Here is the issue I am having. I have a 2000 4Runner SR5 V6 with automatic trans and 2 wheel drive. I have a TRD Supercharger (black one) that I added to it at 22,000 miles. I currently have 154,000 on the truck. Ok...
In the past couple months the performance has been going down hill. Once it warms up it runs like crap. It seems to be missing, sputtering, popping, jerking, and just plain fighting to go when adding throttle. I am pretty sure the truck has been running lean for a while even though my dealer says its fine. I dropped the truck off at the dealer Dec 3rd and while they were test driving it, it blew a hole in one of the heads and broke the supercharger belt too. Had the heads replaced and it still has the same problrem..... After being there for a month they realized that it runs good when its not up to temp so they tricked the computer into thinking that the truck is 10 degrees cooler than it is. That made it better not not nearly enough. They said they checked for vacuum leaks etc.. but never found any. Everything seems to check out good and they dont know what to do next. I went through it the other day and started checking connections for corrosion. I put dielectric grease on several of them and replaced the TPS sensor because at full throttle it was only getting 74% according to the laptop. I also replaced a vacuum hose on the throttle body that was cracking. That seemed to help too but not 100% yet. I have ordered the 7th injector kit from Underdog racing and am waiting for it to arrive. ANY ideas would help!!!! Thanks
