How bad is this? I cut into my rear shock mounts.

Rear shocks were rusted into place. Accidentally cut the rear shock mounts while cutting the shocks out.

I think you'll be ok. But it couldn't hurt to drive it through a shop and have them hit that with a couple of spot welds.

I'd weld it if it were my rig. You cut through almost 1/2 the thickness.

Should I put the shocks on and drive to a shop or have them come to me? Just ask them to weld a new plate on? I'm not quite sure what to ask them to do.

A couple things to consider.
1) You can drive it to them. The area that you have cut is not the mos crucial spot. I still would have them look at it. They can recommend the fix but if it were me I would jut have them run a bead over it. The weld will be enough. no need for a plate.
2) The only concern I would have is when you mount your shock does the top extend over any of the cut area? If yes then it would be better for them to come to you so you don't have to dis-assemble the thing. The heat from the weld could melt the bushing.

If it were me, I'd just put some JB weld on the spot and move on. Unless rust is a bad problem where you live, it'll be fine. The shocks don't hold the weight of the vehicle, the coils do.

Just find someone with a welder, it will be worth it. JB weld won’t do anything. Might as well put caulking on it.

Call me crazy but I don't think that will pose any problem at all That appears to be a slight cut in an area that has a lot of steel surrounding it,I've had rusted out mounts last for years before failing and they had much less steel remaining.

Even though it is safe to let it be as is, I'd put few tack welds in there. Doesn't have to be pretty initially, just fill that channel and sand it smooth with angle grinder. Look at the whole thing positively after all you can buy yourself simple MIG welder with self shielding wire ($90) and angle grinder ($10). I don't need to tell you which store has cheap stuff cheap (for rare use is justifiable in my opinion). GL
