I picked up a 2002 4Runner Limited with 137k miles last year for $7,675. Paid cash, and first time I ever got the pink slip to a vehicle... Everything was ALWAYS financed, so it's a MUCH more gratifying feeling.
However I've dropped quite a pretty penny on the car with maintenance and updating things (such as replacing broken stereo, speakers, light bulbs, etc). Total I've spent $4k on maintenance and repairs and another $5k on modest upgrages (such as tires, speakers, headlights, window tint... Nothing crazy like suspension or mods. Just cleaning it up)
