How different are 1st & 2nd gen rear bumpers?

For some reason the 2nd gen just got forgotten in the aftermarket. There are a few but i dont care for the tube rear bumper. I like the cbi rear better. Marlin crawler lists their bumper as fitting 84-95. So i wonder if the cbi 1st gen rear will fit 2nd gen.

Any of you experts have experience here?

Im willing to cut and weld to make it work if they are "close".

Best bet is to call Nathan at cbi,but it will all boil down to how the bumper sides are made to fit that will let it swap between the two gens
