How do I put this: The battery ceased to exist.

I am in the market for a new battery. Hate buying junk and especially hate a bad battery, so I took oreilys and autozones selection for crap out of nature. I want the freedom of playing music for 30 minutes or so with the car off when I'm outdoors. What is the general solution for most of you? What battery group is supreme for the 3rd gen bay? and is there anything short of an optima that is impressive? any tricks like a diesel battery or a marine battery?

I believe DieHard Platinum is the best. I wish I had known when I went to buy my battery.

Opie is on the right path. The Die Hard platinum is a relabeled Odyssey battery, which in my book, is about the best out there. I don't think there is an exact fit, but others on here and on YT have made them fit.

If it's that old then that is when they were made in the USA. Unstoppable back then

Now they are made in Mexico and are pretty bad for the price

It's commonly thought that Autozone Duralast Platinums are rebadged Deka Intimidators.

I've had 2 AZ Duralast Platinums since the first of this year with no issues.

They maybe if you look on the label they should say east penn on the or look like their label I know the ones at batteries plus are cause I could not find any for my runner so I called them and they told me they sold them to batteries plus

I have had a few vehicles with a dual battery set up and they had endless power for auxiliary items. Just a thought if you would like to have the freedom of not worrying about killing the juice while camping.

I got a Duracell from Sams Club. They are made by East Penn (USA USA USA), and so far no complaints. Was only $90, has a high CC Amperage, and comes with a pretty damn good warranty. I got size 24F, thought that was stock. There are a few other running them as well.

Die Hard Gold is NOT an odessy battery.

If you can't buy the platinum then you are better off getting the biggest battery with the best warranty you can find/afford.

Ive been running the die hard platinum for a while now on fridge duty, which means it gets really drained sometimes before being charged back up. Right now it is also helping to start the truck since the Oriliey's POS (stock location) is getting weak. Yes I will be replacing it with the same die hard. They are pricey but for the piece of mind, quality and warranty you really can't go wrong.
