How do my tires look? Dry rot manageable or not?

I attached some pictures of cracks that are within the tread of all 4 of my tires. I didn’t see any on the side wall. It just has me baffled as these TOYO tires still look to be in great shape and are 3 years old. Manufactured 22 week of 2015. I already plan to put on some falken wildpeak A/T3W 265/70r17 later this year but should I go ahead and replace these? Also my spare tire has never been used and has no cracking but is now 12 years old should I replace that as well?

Did you post a picture with your message? I cant tell. and are you saying they look fine?

those are not "cracks" that is the tread pattern.

Those are cracks but nothing to worry about yet. Tread is still decent, by the time those cracks mean anything, tires will be bald assuming the do the normal 10-15K a year

I believe the op is talking about between the tread, and yes it is weather cracking, and the rubber itself is probably very hard. Personally i would change them out, but to each their own.

The weakest portion on a tire is the sidewalls, if the cracking was on the sidewalls I would be concerned enough to replace them, but the tread portion is much thicker than the sidewalls even within the grooves, so I think you should be fine until you replace them later this year, but I would just keep an eye on the cracking to see if it get worst if it does then you can decide to replace them sooner.

Hey thanks for the replies you guys . Basically from a mileage standpoint I have between 40 and 50 thousand miles on these tires so far so if I had to replace them now I wouldn't be heartbroken haha. At this point the only reason I would get new ones is because in mid august I will be moving into my college apartment and my 4runner is gonna be loaded to the top. Just don't want a blowout going 80 with a thousand pounds of stuff in the back lol.

Blowout could happen with a brand new tire also. IMO, those aren't bad enough to worry about BUT a nice new set of AT tires is never a bad idea! Hell I had 300 miles on my brand new 4R when I lifted it and put new tires under it lol.

They (tire stores) say 6 years after manufacture date is time to change them.

Thank you all!! From what everyone is saying I will leave them on for the moment and just monitor. In august before I leave if they are looking pretty rough I'll change them then. Again thank you everyone!

I just like not having to worry about sliding and trying to stop with rubber that hard, not having a blow out was not my concern. I like having good rubber to the ground in the rain for sure.

yeah the only other reason they concern me is because now it looks as if pieces of the tread are almost being torn off. This only started happening in the last month or so. I guess this is a sign they are starting to get hard. It really doesn't surprise me though as when i am home during the winter the temperatures frequently get below zero and then when i'm back at school (spring) are in the 90's. Also these tires have spent their entire life outside.

Tires generally live outside............. sorry I had to lol. Look into a set of KO2's or AT2's, both great AT tires that last forever.

My michelin LTX M+S2's (my second set... first was replaced under warranty for cracking, ironically), looked much much worse than that and Michelin refused to warranty them.

I managed to wear them out enough to justify replacing them before any chunking of the tread happened.

Your cracking looks like it's still superficial... it's when the cracks split open that it looks real bad.
