2006 Titanium 4x4 w/ 265/70/17 BFG AT kO's...is it too much, too flashy? I'm trying to toughen up the look of my 4 runner... I love the black but can't decide if the milled billet look is too much...tire guy laughed at me when i asked if he could put them on so i could take a look...ha. guess they don't do that. Next is a homemade prerunner lightbar. Already took off the running boards. This runner is no grocery getter and want to give it more of an off road look.

Eh,not bad but also kind of common around here and IMO is a bit much for a tough off road look,it's more of a street truck rim.

Did they give a good reason to stay away from a all steel wheel? I have seen them used for many years in really rough use and they never failed that I know about.

I notice a lot of SUVs and Trucks running a lot of really BLING!!BLING!! "look at my really Coooool wheels"around many of the Clubs in our City.

Gets a lot of peoples drives car jacked for them.

Sometimes not being so seen is better in the long haul.;)
 
My vote is for your 1st choice, the Ultra Mammoth Black on your color T4R. http://lesschwab.com/wheels/new_wheels/ultramammoth.asp They have enough 'structure' to look tough & capable. They also have enough metal color to prevent 'too black'.

The Marin doesn't look "off road tough" to me. The ARE Marin would look ok with more of a street theme and street tire.

The ARE Thug is cool but it's too dark for me on a Titanium T4R.

any other opinions? I agree w/ the marin...bit too think for an offroad wheel...just not sure i like the metal color...hard to say w/out seeing on the car. I was really going for all black. Maybe a thug??!!!?

Or any other ideas?
 
Help me out falls...do you have any in mind? I'm open to ideas, just really want to stick to a black look. I thought about getting my stockers powder coated, but can buy a new wheel for less money, and won't be w/out my vehicle for a week.
 
Oh and to address a previous...i live in helena montana. Car jacking isn't an issue and i don't think a black wheel will bling out a 4runner...trying to avoid the bling while giving it a tougher look. I want to just paint my stockers, but not sure how durable that would be.

As far as adding bling I really don't know what to say since my description of bling is stock rims ....lol. The nice thing about aftermarket is that you would be able to pick your offset / backspace and go with an 8" rim which would give it a nice stance.

Also don't paint your rims , have them powder coated , MY choice if I had a silver 4R which would be my next color ( love it !!) I would put a set of Tundra or Sequoia 10 split/spoke rims on and power coat then gloss black.
 
Trying to stick w/ Les Schwab as they said they'd give me 200 bucks for my old stockers. I made sure they were coated in mud when they agreed as they are pretty scuffed up.

I love those wheels. I'm not sure why I couldn't find that brand before...

Post some pics once there on. I'm looking into a similar set-up maybe going with some 265/70/17 Firestone REVOs. (I've got a buddy who's brother owns a Firestone shop).

I actually came across the KMC line during an ebay search for some FJ wheels. They look nice and not to flashy. After all, we're going for off-road here, right!!
