how do you prefer to wash your baby

Like others, wash my own or leave it dirty and rinse occasionally (perfect for dry summers in CA).
The problem I have with hand car washes is that the washer's are not paid much so you literally get what you pay for. And let's face it, you ain't going to pay $40 to have your car washed. Doing it yourself is therefore going to get much better results because you put more effort/time into it.
When I bought my T4R used at a dealership, their interior detailing job sucked. Then I saw who was doing the detailing... guys that were probably paid about $10 an hour or $10 a car. Heck, for $10 a car I wouldn't have the time or energy to do much more than a superficial job either.

Automatic Car Washes
I have two very good automatic car washes within two miles of my house. The first one is totoally touchless. It uses high-pressure sprayers that go all around the car. It is five bucks with a fill-up - not too bad a deal if you don't have a very, very dirty vehicle.
The other one is a brand-new place that charges six bucks for the basic wash. It has soft felt that touches your car, along with high-pressure spray for the undercarriage and wheels. It has a high-speed dryer that does a fair job, and you get a free, unlimited self-service vacuum at the end. I find it well worth the price, and there are never any scratches from using it.
I try to avoid the coin-op ones, though, since too many Bubbas go in there and use the brushes on their muddy trucks and under the hood on their greasy engines. Bastages!

3 Styles
I basically have 3 categories for wash:
1. Basic Wash (every 3-4 weeks) 2 Bucket wash the whole thing, rinse, dry, and quick detail. Simple Green the wheels and wells. Quick whipe down of interior. Invisible glass on all glass.
2. Intermediate Clean(6-8 weeks). . 2 bucket wash, rinse, dry. Clearkote Moose Wax Hand Glaze, Clearkote Red Machine Glaze, Clearkote Vanilla Moosewax (x2). Simple Green wheels and wells, Vanilla Moose wheels. Simple Green running boards. Treat all plastic and rubber with Armor All or Clearkote Rubber Dressing.
3. Full Detail (twice a year). 2 bucket wash, rinse, clay, 2 bucket wash. Engine spray down with simple green, rinse, dress rubber and plastic with armor all. Clean wheels, tires, wells with Simple green. Vanilla Moose wheels, armor all or tire gel on tires. Tape off all plastic and rubber. Optimum polish (depending on swirls), Moose Wax Hand Glaze, Red Machine Glaze, Vanilla Moose (X2), Natty's Blue on top.
This really keeps my BLACK truck looking nice through the nasty dust of Oklahoma.

Yea around here we have this place called Deltasonic, nice place. Good cleaning, no scratches, and trust me i'm anal about scratches. Another thing i like is that it doesn't strip down the wax and does undercarriage washes, but i usually only use it in the winter, and the summer i like to spend time in the sun and bathe the cars. lol

FYI I didn't mean to criticize, sorry if it was taken that way. You guys do a good job though, I was browsing this other forum and there was like 2 spams in every thread.
