How do you remove waterspots?

I parked my Runner outside and was gone for a couple days and when i came back the sprinklers had gotten it and now it has those pitted type of waterspots on it... I presume they're in the layer of wax on there so will stripping the wax remove them?

If not, how do you get rid of these damn things.

try washing the 4r first. if that doesnt help, have a bottle of MX-7 handy. ive never used it on my truck, but it did wonders on my friends miata. be sure to get the one for paint and not glass.

If nothing else works, try using detailing clay, it has always work for me and it leaves a smooth paint, free of imperfections.Autopia(Clay)

Vinegar is an acid -- that would probably strip the wax so that the area would need to be recoated. Correct?

correct. Best way.. use a little polish on that area.. then follow up with a wax.

Ok well I did a Dawn wash and then clay, paint cleaner, polish and then wax and all blemishes were removed... the dawn wash, clay and paint cleaner are what finished off the blemishes, polish and wax were just to make it look teh seziness.

I just wash it again and then shammie it in the shade. The metal on the body has to be cool. Gets rid of spots all together.

depending on how stubborn they are, there are different steps


try to remove with a detailing spray

wash (use dish soap as it will actually remove the wax from any areas where it touches)

white vin

hand glaze

light cut rubbing compound
