How do you reset the maintanence light?

I have an 03 4Runner Sport and the maintanence light is coming on. How do I reset it?

It is in the owners manual... But if i remember correctly you press and hold both the trip and reset buttons on the left side of the guages. (you may have to hold them for like ten seconds or something, or maybe hold them while you turn on the car, but Im sure that those buttons have at least something to do with it.
I would try just holding down both buttons first though.
