How hard do you drive?

Where I live if you're doing 7 or 8 MPH over the speed limit the LEOs won't even give you a second glance, basicly keep it less than 10 MPH under the speed limit and you're fine, even the Highway Patrol are the same way but if you get clocked going 11 MPH or more over they will come for you!!!
That being said I'm always passing 75% or more of most on the road, I don't really drive agressively but if you give me a slot to get pass you I take it, I have much better things to do then to putt down the road, time is money!!!
I once passed a black car :wave: doing the speed limit and me at around 60 in a 45, and about 1/2 mile down the road that black car pulled me :ybrick:, unmarked Highway Patrol, he asked me if I knew how fast I was going and I told him the truth, he wrote me up and then I told him..."If I knew you were a Ninja Bear I would have never passed you", he didn't seem amused at all

Irregardless of what I posted above, I don't abuse my T4R, I don't have too, I rarely push it above 2500 to 3000 RPMs, this V8 runs so great I don't have too, I plan on having this one for many years to come, I have all the tools and I know how to fix anything on it, so if something starts going out on it, it will be fixed before it breaks.

I don't drive hard which I'm thinking is first off the at the stop light. Here that will get you t-boned by red light runners. On the interstate I'll roll with the flow.

I agree with y'all. I usually don't get it above 3000 RPMs. The V8 has good power and I don't feel the need to use it all the time. I was just curious if anyone tends to floor it daily or accelerates hard. I usually only do so when needing to pass someone or if I just want to hear my exhaust note

Probably floor it once or twice a week, getting on the freeway.
Not enough heavy throttle to justify my consistent 15mpg.

I very rarely drive on freeways but when I do I keep it under 75 and get around 19 or so MPGs, if I go any faster my MPGs suffer and drop dramatically, my daily commute is sorta rural type drivng some around 45 and up to 60 or so with some stop lights, I usually get between 16.5 to 17 MPGs.
All my MPGs are hand calculated with every fillup.
What's your average freeway speed?

I drive ~9MPH over on the freeway and as fast as Chicago traffic will let me go in the city.
I tow heavy and often and have had the throttle floored for minutes at a time pulling 6000# up a 7% grade.
I have hit quicksand deep enough that I had to wipe the mud off my arm because I was resting it on the window frame.
In a mall parking lot with a fresh layer of snow, I'm not above goosing it and doing four wheel power slides until the rent-a-cops run me off.
I also don't warm the engine up before I start driving.
...but, I drive gently until the oil starts coming up to temperature;
I check all my tire pressures, temperatures, and fluid levels at every fuel stop when I'm towing, and have gauges to monitor trans temps;
I buy quality OEM maintenance/service parts;
and I torque everything with a properly calibrated torque wrench.
So... I beat her as much as she'll take, but I baby her too. ...and I've never had a Toyota give me less than 300K miles.

I tend to drive her like I stole her. Especially since I changed out the exhaust with the Gibson!

Not sure what would kill her first. Full throttle launches, 35" tires down the interstate at 80mph, low range rock wheeling, parked at 45 degree inclines for minutes at a time with the engine running, short 30 second drives into my garage. I do fill up with 91 octane, change oils regularly.
I have all 8 cylinders might as well use them! Life is too short to worry about it. My brother and I have had the same conversation because we both drive our Toyota's hard. Nothing serious has broken yet...

Nice! Glad to hear that! I usually change my oil every 2500 miles and fill up on 93 octane here in Texas. She’s handled everything I’ve thrown at her lately and doesn’t show any signs of stopping

I'm not on the freeway far / long enough to matter. 5% of my miles tops, 70mph max.
My 15mpg comes from crowded surface streets and waiting at red lights.
