How Hard Is It To Stop a Prius?

Well its not hard at all, the media has turned this into a big deal which in the video it shows stopping it is a no brainer.

I love it! More tests that help to disprove the media hype. This guy was out on the open highway at speeds in the 60's, yet he had no trouble braking with his Prius. Hmmm.....more support for Car and Driver's tests and my own tests.

On the side note, what would happen if a 4Runner's shifter was thrown into REVERSE incidentally?

These tests aren't sensational in any way, so they go largely ignored by the media.

As for the 4Runner's shifter, reverse would not engage. When shifted out of drive, it would go into neutral and stay there if the driver tried to engage reverse while moving. Electronics are a beautiful thing! Just like your ignition key---try turning your key to the start position after your engine is already running...nothing will happen.

Oh that's true...I should have specified the 4th gen and 5th gen. Of course that technology hasn't always been around, but still we're talking since 2003 it has been on the 4Runner.
