How long will tires last?

I m looking at a 03 sport that has 25,000 miles on it. I dont know alot about tires so... how many more miles do you think I can get out of the stock tires. I know it depends on a lot if factors but lets say all that all miles have been on road and will be in the future.

around 35K for stock tires. Real soft rubber.

35K is probably a good average. I have 32K on my stock Dunlops and will probably be changing them in a few months. Some have gotten 40K plus, but this is probably best case.

I just had to order a new set Friday and I had right at 37K on my originals. They are more of a street tread, but i never go off road anyway.

I had 16k on my Bridgestones before I swapped them out for larger tires, I would say they still have 50-60% life left. My Michelins have 17k right now and they still have about 70-80% life left. So, I'd say the 30-something thousand mile estimate is good.

I have 39,600 on the factory JUNK Dunlops...

Actually they are fine street tires, just think it is an insult to put "P" rated tires on an Off Road Vehicle, plus the tread is not mud and snow worthy...

I almost sprung for the Michelins, but they were a good bit more and we are cutting back on expenses getting ready for a new house. My first set were Kumho's, so I just went with them again since they were good tires. Michelin tires are great, and I am sure they ride really well. I had three sets on my Maxima.

I replace tires when I begin to experience poor performance in the rain.

I never reached the wear indicator on any tires I've owned. I get about 80% out of the treadwear rating.

I have Michelin All terrains and I have 70K on them right now with plenty of tred to go. They could be a little better in the mud, but some of the stuff that I have put them in would probably need to be pretty aggressive anyways to get through.

I have already 36k on my truck and the tires seem like they can hold on for a couple of thousand miles after that, I am thinking about the Michelin Cross Terrain. Is there any other tire I should be looking at or this is the best one for the 4Runner?

I bought my 03 rRunner in Sept 03, about 18 months ago, and am at the 36000 mile mark. Still have reasonable treads left on the original tires, but am watching them closer now. Will probably do a swap out at 40000.

What tires are these? I have xradials on my accord (work car) and have about 85K on them and might sqeeze another 10K out of them. I was looking at getting xradials for the 4runner too; they have a 60k treadlife warranty. Don't need anything too aggressive as the old Jeep CJ's are the offroad vehicles in the family. What Michelin tires do you have (never heard of a Michelin All Terrain).

I suppose you could go with the wear bars, or as someone else posted, Grip feel, with is subjective but seems to appear around 80% lost tread.

I don't know about the last method...I think I just don't like seeing so little tread depth, perhaps a tire engineer, would explain why they are just fine until the wear-bars??

Mine came with the Michelin's and I have about 34k on them. I def need a new set. I should have gotten them already cause my traction up front SUX!
