How many 10' are they producing?

I'm curious to see how many 10's they produce. The dealer I bought mine from has 2 on the lot...

LE (VIN ....2,304)

&

SR5 (VIN ....26,166)

Are VIN's an accurate way to keep track of how many were produced? If so they have over 26,000 currently. I know the numbers were higher in the mid 2000's (100k+), but curious where they end it for this year as we are starting to get closer to it.

I bought mine last week and had a heck of a time finding a loaded 4x4. A salesman (though these guys lie anytime their lips are moving, especially in SoCal) told me that Toyota is playing it smart by limiting production. They sure are playing the basic fundamentals of Economics 101.

my dealer has only had 3 10's since they were released 2 Limiteds and my Trail. They also said less the 2% would be Trails could be BS though?

got mine 4 months ago and had to look all over central cal, valley and socal to find one (found one 100 miles away and dealer did a swap). I still rarely see any on the road, and mostly SR5.

Wow, my 3 local dealers always have them 'in-stock'. One dealer usually only has the LE & SR5 and the other 2 have those as well as the TE. There has not been a shortage here, it seems like when they sell one two days later one shows up to replace it.

I'm guessing that Toyota USA or North America would provide the most reliable answer to your question. I'm not sure that they would have the final numbers for 2010 yet, but expect they will eventually. Have you tried e-mailing them your question?

Same here..... I found a dealer 2 hours away. All of the dealers that I dealt with would not do a dealer swap. I feel very fortunate that I was able to locate a 4Runner of my choice and also got a good deal, IMO. I've never worked so hard buying a car!

There are 3 SR5's, 1 Trail and 2 Limited's at Toyota of Escondido. Highest Vin there is 27193.

Toyota of Carlsbad has 2 SR5's and 3 Limited's, highest Vin there is 30666.

Well that 35k number seems pretty close so far based on those VIN's and how much time is left.

That's a solid increase over the 19,600 Runners sold in '09 which was a drop from the nearly 48,000 sold in '08. I think Toyota is happy with the sales despite all the criticisms over the lack of a V8 and a few other deletions from the 4th gens.

Is it possible that there's a different sequence for RWD 4Rs?

I noticed that Big Island Toyota recently received two 4Runners. The 4WD Limited has a VIN starts with JTEB and ends with 29128, in line with the others mentioned. The RWD SR5 starts with JTEZ and ends with 12704. Both recently arrived based on their stock numbers.

I had the hardest time finding the truck I wanted in New England. Had to go to 5 dealerships looking for a Ltd with the third row. After being told by multiple salesmen they didn't make the truck. I guess persistance pays off.

Yes, it did take then a while to get the 3rd row in MA, and a few other states as well. They are showing up more and more now though.

In SoCal it is near impossible to find an LE without 3rd.

The 2011s must be coming soon. My local dealer (Southern NH) hasn't had a 4runner on its lot in weeks. I having been waiting for a month now for an SR5 with 3rd row. Been told it has arrived at port on the 16th. Should see it next week. Dealers seem really reluctant to trade amongst each other... 35k seems like a lot production wise considering I rarely ever see one on the road. I would consider waiting for a 2011 at this point, but doubt the dealership with my deposit would be too happy about that.
