I've always liked the look of the 2 door 2nd gen, I have only seen a few over the years. Our brothers to the north say there are more up that way then here in the states.

'84 and '90 Coupes

Did you get the wire harness, intake, engine and exhaust side from a turbo donor vehicle or did you convert a RE to RTE?

2 door 4runner

My boyfriend and I have two 1990 2 door 4runners, both manual and we absolutely love them!!! The reason for them being found more in Washington State and Canada is due to the production date. In the United States, 2 doors were around from 89-92 (89 obviously having a production date of 90), but in Canada they were produced until 93. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

Makes sense to me that if there were more sold in Canada, there'd be more there now, and folks just south of the border are more likely to import than somebody in, say, Texas.

Selling the '84 turbo

@turboSR5: Yes, I found a 1985 pickup truck that had rolled and bought the entire vehicle. I stripped it down, took all the engine components out, transfered them to the shelled '84. I had to get a new radiator, and I frankensteined the engine wire harness (opened every wire harness and hand checked every wire), and with the help of a FSM was able to change from the automatic transmission to a manual. I eyed-up the distributor and she fired on the first crank (haven't touched it since). She runs like a race car down the road.

Having said all that, I need to sell the beauty; here's my listing from the San Antonio Craigslist: Selling my 1984 4Runner, trying to get some $ together to buy a 2011 or '12 Sequioa. Located near San Antonio Texas.
