I've owned more than 60 vehicles so far. I have a starting point for price vs. miles which is 10 cents a mile for the remaining miles without major work. I add or subtract on vehicles condition and past maintainance.
I expect a 3rd gen to go to 300k miles without many problems that I can't fix myself. So I have no fear of shocks, brakes, steering rack, new radiator and things like that. Timing belt I'd pay someone to do, likewise probably ball joints.
This system has worked well for me and Toyotas have been worth the money invested. Knock on wood

A clean frame is the most important thing.
