How many miles left in a '95 4cyl?

Thinking of buying a '95 T100. Basic plain jane truck with the 4 cyl and 5sp manual trans. A/C and 2WD.

It has 195000 miles on it and I wondered how many miles might be left in the engine.

Anyone have experience with one of this mileage?

It really depends honestly, if someones taken care of it good. 4Runners are supposed to last 200-300. But honestly, I wouldn't buy anything nearly close to 200k.

I might be talked into paying $500-900 for it if is in good shape, but not any more.

My '95 4x4 truck is on it's 3rd engine. They just don't seem to last very well in these heavy trucks. You have to keep it floored all the time or else you get dirty looks from everyone. :bash:

And if you haven't priced another engine for one of these, I paid $2200 for a used engine with 80k on it at the junkyard, then 2 years later I paid $2600 for a rebuild hoping to have better luck.

That was about 2 years ago and I'm strictly driving it to work now. It's doing ok, but it does seem to tick awfully loud.

I just had to get another 5 speed about a month ago too. That was another $1100 invested in it. It seems last time I had the engine redone, they forgot to fill the transmission back up with oil. Funny how they don't last too long dry.....

Trust me, you don't want to play the game I have been playing...

I know that the seller is crazy as he is asking $6500 for the truck.

It is freeway miles he says and it passed smog but he claims that it gets 19 mpg which is low for a 4 banger unless it is worn out.

Think I'll pass on it.

I think if a guy quoted me a price like that on that truck, I'd be tempted to go back and slap him... :headslap:

That's kind of an insult don't you think?

I did notice that it is a 2.7l engine instead of my 2.4, but I don't know if that is a better engine or not. I would assume a little more hp and torque...

I didn't know T100's came with a 4 cylinder, I thought they were all 6 cylinder. That is a very high price for that truck. I wouldn't buy it. Just my 2cents.
