96743runner - i'm shocked at your mileage, lol... 77k on a 98!? Some folks on here have 300-400k on the same year!

Just went past 220,000 this week. I bought her with a little over 190,000 18 months ago. Other than preventative maintenance, nothing has been done to the engine. All work done has been done on the front suspension.

--Replaced sway bar links
--Replaced sway bar bushings
--Replaced front shocks and struts

She drives as good as ever and still has plenty of gumption...well as much gumption as the ole' 3.4L has to offer.

I didn't think about that. I bought some Walmart tires. I wonder if that is the problem. The thing is, it depends on the payment. Sometimes it rides okay and other time it shimmies. I am going to try new struts first, but thanks for the info on the tires.

Just turned 181k and with a 1 mile round trip commute I'm not even going to hit 3000 miles on it this year which has been great for not eating though pricey rubber too.
