I got a 2000 limited 4x4 with only 93k. Picked it up a few months ago.

My 96 T4R just turned over 200,000 miles and I am second owner. Had it since 2000 and it's currently getting a makeover.

Would any of you guys buy a 2001 with 255,000? I am going to look at one with that much and the body seems to be in pretty nice condition, but I just wonder if I will just end up replacing so many things in the next few years where it would be better to spend a little more and get one with less miles. Any thoughts?

For an '01, I'd probably try to look for closer to ~180k miles or less just to be more on the safe side and avoid a more "used" runner as stated already. That is kinda high even if well maintained just due to normal wear and tear. Unless the price is right, of course and you'll have enough for unexpected maintenance on top of what should already be checked (oil, tires, belts, etc..).

I just looked at the vehicle and decided not to pick it up, it was in a little worse shape than I thought, and I think I will keep looking for more around 200k or a little less. Thanks!

I have not had a lick of problems...still get 20 mpg....changed out my clutch, alternator, and just did my rack and pinion. Have been through a few sets of shocks. Have some Kings that need to e rebuilt. Run 108 octane through the first tank on any long trip I take, change oil every 4000-5000 miles, but may start changing it sooner now that "Ema" is getting middle aged. Had the tranny and my rear differential looked at about 4 months ago. Changed out the oil and the guys said no shavings in the mix...so good on that. OH I did change out the drive shaft and the u joints on that check up. Drove about 250 miles home...tranny or something sounded "odd"...I got home was unloading stuff and my back bumper was almost too hot to lean against. Felt the undercarriage and it was steaming hot...took it in the next day. So the original U joints were starting to go. Do most stuff myself. Thrilled I found this forum...lots of people doing all manner of improvements.

255k is a lot. Would need a bit more information before i would purchase. My runner has 180k and got the oil tested. Motor is in really good condition so i can see it going to 300k if all things go well
