Just rolled over 115k today! I bought this clean '00 Limited w/ 113k miles and factory e-locker in Memphis last month and drove it back home to Dallas. I've been loving it ever sense!

I have an '02 Sport and I just rolled over 318K miles. regular maintenance, and I just had to replaced all 6 fuel injectors.

213K on my '01 SR5. Had it a few months and like it so far. One owner and dealer-maintained since birth and since we're in NW Oklahoma there's no rust. Didn't think I'd like the Black color but it's growing on me.

Welcome first of all! I'm a fellow MO resident as well (Webb City) and currently own 3 3rd gens. These 3rd gens are almost bullet proof if properly maintained going 300-400+K on original drivetrains. Its the rusty frames, lower ball joint failures, and pink milk shakes (transmission fluid mixing with engine coolant) to name a few common failures you need to be cautious of. I know exactly where you are..near the Joplin area...was just down in the Springfield area a couple weeks ago, actually in Fair Play. I really appreciate the information. I had a 4Runner new in 1988, and had it for 10 years with no problems at all, but some idiot Tboned me and totalled it at a stoplight she ran. What a waste of good SUV. Anyway, saw this 2002 and for the price, couldn't resist so think I am going to buy it. I appreciate the links too.

That sucks about the total. I too bought a 1988 4Runner new and drove it to 305,000 miles before getting rid of it. It simply refused to break - until the head gasket developed a leak. I didn't have it in me to fix at the time. I now have a 2001 with 260,000 miles and it's the same - won't break. Most everything is still original. Getting a half-million miles out of 2 vehicles is very satisfying. Hoping to buy my third 4Runner in the next couple months.

1996 SR5 - right about 229,000 miles

Very steady 18 mpg. Took a long trip a few days ago (almost all freeway driving) and hit 20 mpg.
