Your Runner is beautiful for it's age..I kept mine outside too much here in Cali and it's taken damage the wood panelling and external paintwork.

I was lucky to purchase in decent condition, then detailed the hell out of it to get it to my liking.
Interior gets a detail once a month as well as a good wash.
It's garage kept. I always claybar once a year, and wax my cars every season... (4x/ year)

191k on my '99 SR5.
Bought it with 106k on it almost 10 years ago. Been running like a champ for most of the time I have had it, but now I'm fighting a losing battle with an oil leak and oil in my intake. (whole other thread about that here)
Been through the "apparent failed head gasket" nightmare that turned out to be a single fuel injector. Solved that $2,500 dealer problem myself for about $30 (and countless hours of self-diagnosis).
Been through the failed u-joints on the driveshaft nightmare. Solved that $1,500 dealer problem by myself for about $100.
Been through the failed starter contact nightmare. Solved that $400 dealer problem by myself for about $30 and 4 hours to remove/install the starter.
I have never had a love/hate relationship with a vehicle, like I have had with this one. As of lately with my oil leak, I have grown to love hating on this POS.
What I despise most about this vehicle is the incredibly stupid design involving home maintenance oil changes. Of the dozens of vehicles I have owned, this is by far the worst for being a PITA to change the oil. One should never, ever have to access an oil filter through a wheel well. One should never, ever get 1/4 quart of oil all over the suspension just from removing the oil filter. But at least is isn't necessary to jack it up - woofreakinghoo.
