How many miles on your 4runner?

Just bought my 97 4Runner with 148,000 miles on her. The "Check" light was on when I bought it and thats how I found this forum. And so it begins.........

170K, tires, brakes, battery, timing belt, spark plugs.

Thats it.

Still gets 20mpg mixed.

just passed 205k and running strong. figure i can get another 100k out of her. only repairs that have been done are routine maintenance, new clutch, tires, and brakes. Great truck.

My 99 has 129k miles and still gets about 19-21 MPG depending on how I drive it. All that's ever been done is regular maintenance with the exception of the MAF sensor. I hope it lasts me 200k more miles!

205,000 on my dad's 96 sr5.

both still running strong nothing but routine maintenance on both.

seevik, you may want to think about getting that changed. might be pricey, so give yourself a month or so to save up.

If you have the 4 cylinder and the chain then I don't think you have to replace it.

If you have the v6 and the belt then you should change it soon.

168K on a 97' 3.4L 2wd and never done a thing to it but routine maintenance, that thing is still driving strong!!! was going to sell it but now I'm thinking of keeping it and building it up with either a v8 or supercharger and beefed up tranny and rear end.

208,000 miles. Routine maintenance, 1 rear axle seal, and 1 harmonic balancer my mech was nice enough to leave loose on me. I'll soon be putting on a front and rear output shaft seal on the transfer case. She's starting to leak my expensive gear oil out when I go up or down hills in excess of 50 degrees angle. 75w90 synthetic gear oil: $9.00 per quart.

My first 4Runner, and I'm about to replace my wife's Honda with newer model. I love it. Sporting just over 93,000 miles today, and about to do the timing belt/water pump service.
