So I was at Prairie City OHV 4x4 Obstacle course yesterday with a couple 1st Gen 4runners and I almost flopped twice in my 85' It was a very scary feeling, but I guess it felt more intense due to the excessive body lift. How many of you have flopped or almost rolled? I have only seen one of my buddies flop it once before trying to do soup kitchen at the rubicon.

watch the video of me almost flopping

I'm not sure how close I was to flopping but it sure felt like I was about to and everyone else was expecting it to end badly.

Providence Canyon, UT last semester. Still not entirely sure what made me go over since I wasn't at that steep of an angle.

best part is your Godzilla mud flaps.

honestly I gotta rock the mud flaps in my county/area the cops local el dorado county sheriff, california highway patrol, city cops, and california state parks officers are all over mud flap tickets. Two of my friend just got them last week and a ton of other people over the last few months that I know. They seriously target lifted toyota's and Jeeps they will give you any excuse to pull you over. The cops love the huge semi truck mud flaps and give me alot of respect on the road and totally leave my rig alone. Rather rock the huge mud flaps that bolt right on then get slapped with the Huge Ticket and go to court and jump through all the hoops I did forget my tool kit to unbolt them. :lookout::reddance::toilet:

I've almost gone ass over end twice. When my cooler flew from the rear cargo into my dash is when I hit the gas haha

Our group had 3 rolls in 4 trips in December. One was bad, the other two not so bad. Sucks regardless though.

Thanks unlimitedFJ4, I do love my 4Runner and drive it like I think it's built to drive!

it was a pucker moment for sure. In the position when almost stopped the truck still rocks a bit as the suspension settles, it was coming back up when I felt it would go over so I just stomped the throttle to bring the back down. The guys running their cameras pretty much dropped them when the thought I was going over so they end pretty abruptly. Nice to know my wheeling buddies are more concerned about me that getting a video!

Seeing the flopped trucks is a club I never want to join.

It doesn't look as bad as some of the other pics but it strikes me differently, reminds me of a photo of a dead hippo or something.

It really wasn't bad. More like she was tired and wanted to lay down.

I had my 7yo son with me and he kept saying "it's gonna flip!" I was like "Nah. She can handle it."

If you look carefully in the pic from the back of the Runner, you can see a wall a little ways up the trail. I was trying to get up and over that, but just kept nailing my bumper. It was about 4' high.

The trail was literally a "V", steep ass sides, about 3' high.

I couldn't get her turned around, so when I backed out, all I saw as a tree in the rearview. I went to go around the tree, and went way too high passenger. I was already almost over, so she just said "I'm tired." Lol.

Opened up the sunroof, climbed out, and got her on her wheels.

not picture of it on its side but im sure you guys can see what happened here.

I flopped a couple of years ago up American Fork canyon. (don't ask). I didn't think it was going to go, but my gear shifted and it was just enough to push me over.

Tested the cage this weekend. Not on purpose...

First pull pulled it back up onto the rock, we held it with the strap, repositioned winch to pull it back off the rock and up, and it went back on to all 4s. Self recovery. I wasnt driving, a buddy was while I was supposed to be getting a video, but I failed at that.

Smoked a bit on start up, but didnt loose much for fluids we drove off and kept wheeling.
