How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

I've been away a long long time. I'm the original owner of my 05 SR5 that has about 257,000 on the odometer now. She still runs great, but shes tired. Looking to get a 5th gen. I'm in Dallas. Anybody have any recommendations on the best dealer around here now? I bought this one at Toyota of Richardson back in 2005.

I know Olympia deals better than most in the area, for instance I got my 2019 TRD Pro a year ago from Olympia for about $2500 off MSRP but 17.6% off MSRP on any Toyota when there are no factory rebates in Washington. Something isn't right here. Please tell us your ways....

Agreed, that seems like an aggressive price.

I did see a limited in Ohio listed for $41,xxx with a $50,xxx MSRP on Auto Trader (18% off). There may be other fees or BS though, and I didn't want to purchase across the country. Not worth the time or effort:

Always possible they use these to get you in the door and the model is sold (but they neglected to take it off their site), but it appears there are deals out there, but I can't imagine the dealers are making much of anything. I've had dealers show me their profit after the fact, and I have gotten screaming deals in the past, but don't have the time to mess around with it anymore. Getting a little over 10% off my wife's 2020 Limited in Spokane with just a couple e-mails worked for me. And they had the only Limited models on this side of the state. I actually got them to match a price I found in Utah (my home state) from a dealer I have purchased a number of cars from.

I purchased from Autonation, and they tried to tell me they lost money on the sale. While I got a fair price, I didn't like the way I was treated, and I won't be going back there. Their sales manager played the classic (I'll have to see if I can get owner approval, but I've been here 21 years so I think I can get him to deal) crap. I did ultimately get them to Price Larry H Miller's price in Utah after I threatened to walk (headed to Utah in a week which is why I checked there).

I hate buying cars. For those that live near Kenosha or DC, Carmax has two new Toyota dealers, and their prices are reasonable and you don't have to **** around with sleazy salesmen. Also a good place to give you a litmus test on pricing.

I've gotten dealers far from either Carmax to match or beat Carmax's price FWIW.

Good timing. I've just wrapped up 2 weeks of test drives between Richardson and Cowboy. The guys at Plano are scummy scummy, stay away.

Richardson - Got them to 9.5% off sticker before fees
Cowboy - Got them to 11% off sticker before fees

Fees are dollars apart at both.

If all goes well, I'll take possession from Cowboy tomorrow. Their sales guy Scott Henderson is awesome, way better than anyone I dealt with at Richardson.

2020 Off Road, no sunroof, no nav, crossbars/cargo cover/net for 37.5 pre-fees. It's a touch more than I was hoping for, but finding a fairly basic model Magnetic Grey Off Road has proven very, very, very hard in Dallas. Cowboy is even cutting me a deal on tube steps, the one I'm looking at has Predator steps which I don't want. They're selling me the tubes for half off and letting me keep the predators, so...if anyone in Dallas needs Predator steps...

I am new the 4runner forum but on previous vehicle forums I have gotten deals that were as good as described by members on the forums. I think people really should provide screenshots or evidence of the deal if they really want to help other forum owners.

On the Silverado forum their information helped me get 38% MSRP on a brand new truck. On the Vette forums they helped me get 35% MSRP on a brand new Z06. I understand these are Chevys though.

I figure with the dying sales, 10-15% off MSRP with no dealer fees could be possible, maybe I am just gullible.
Dying sales?

Any dealer recommendations in the MD/VA area?

Fitzgerald TOYOTA in Gaithersburg Md. ask for John Albright or email [email protected]. He is the sales manager I delt with. I don’t get anything for referring people, just was a honest guy that was aggressive on pricing and trade.

Ok, I'm back in Utah after picking up my new Pro in South Carolina. I upgraded from a 2016 Limited with 108,000 miles. I was a little worried, as I drove my trade out there, that they would change something on the deal. This dealer stuck to everything they agreed to and made my purchase one of the easiest I've had. They gave me really close to what I wanted on my trade, and they discounted the Pro by about 8%. Because the Pro doesn't qualify for any manufacturer cash back or rebates, with the exception of Military and College Grad, getting a higher discount is more difficult. Like I mentioned before, this isn't the deal of the century but a deal that I can live with. I've had numerous compliments on the color, while driving it back.

For those that asked about the low tax figure, it's because I had a trade that offset the taxes. I was taxed on $24,749.00 and not $48,249.00.

8% on a 2020 PRO is a great score. Congrats!

Get used to it. Everyone on the internet pays less, gets better MPG, makes more HP and has a hotter wifey/girlfriend than you.

Amen. I say this as a guy that has worn some dealers out over the years. To many people feel the need to be better at car buying, or beating the dealer than the next guy. %off? That's some Dave Ramsey/Susan Ormand garbage there. Its a car not a sweater at kohls. Also- when did dealerships become the bad guy for wanting to make money in a business? Do you negotiate everything you sale or do? Are you a bad guy because your company/you made a profit off someone?

Also Fee's? That just dealer profit and not something they HAVE to put on. I will sell you a 2020 PRO for $30,000 before the $20,000 dealer fee. Great deal! Stop kidding yourself you bought it that cheap.

You can also tell people on here are lying based on tax's not matching the amounts. (yes some states tax on trade difference, but a lot of them are still wildly off.) If your happy with leading other people down the well of misery looking for some unreasonable deal, good for you. I will sleep fine tonight either way. However you are not doing anyone any justice with the inaccurate expectations.

I second Carmax- Had 3 great experiences there and they seem to offer stupid money on Toyota trades.

The new owner of an immaculately kept one owner leased 2018 TRD Pro, White, BFG's, weathertech mats, etc... Bought it today at EchoPark w/ 44K on the clock. $37289 + $1911 taxes. I seriously haven't seen a used one less than 2 years old for under 40K in my search.

I also had a great experience at Olympia. I posted previously about it in this thread but they were by far the best price anywhere within 250 miles of me.

I bought it with price negotiation from Truecar. Call and ask to talk to Nadine there. I dealt with her via email before driving there to see/buy it.

Thats pretty damn good, congrats! what was the trade, can't help but wonder if they made the money on that side of the table. I've tried true car and learned to get a fake email account from the bombardment of email that took months and phone calls to stop! Also I have always worked a much better deal than true car or Costco could not even come close

Those $150 doc fees. Florida has insane doc fees. No limit on what they can be the only requirement is they have to charge the same for everybody and they can't be waived. My dealer is $899.

Actually, in case you are curious about the laws by state: List of Legal DOC FEE limit for Every State! : askcarsales
