How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

2021 ORP silver with KDSS, moonroof, and running boards. Msrp 46,454. I went through the Costco auto buying program. Hooked me up with a participating dealer who gave me a great price with no haggling. I paid 41,970 after 1000 dollar rebate and with my good credit they financed me at 2.3% (which was lower than any local credit union) for 5 years and no money down and no prepayment penalties. I feel like I got a pretty good deal considering there is almost no inventory in Southern California right now. Now the California taxes and fees are a whole other story that I equate to highway robbery, but as far as the price and the dealer’s end of things......it was an easy and enjoyable experience.

Just bought '21 MGM ORP with moonroof, OEM running boards, OEM badge blackouts, OEM door guards. Huge Cincy dealer had to go 250 miles out for a dealer swap for it as they had sold every single 4R they had on the lot the day before I bought. I simply told them to get me an MGM, silver, or NB ORP with moonroof and that's what they came back with.
Bottom line: $40,900 for the 4R, $43,900 OTD, including $500 cash back (missed the $1000 by one day). Best price by far that I got from the area dealers. Sales guy said that they will stop dealing starting this month, go MSRP only, and won't have trouble selling them. Not sure if I believe that, but there you go. I will say this: When I started looking in November, this dealer would consistently have 25 4Rs on the lot. It's nosedived since then.

Just took home a TRDP Lunar rock. Paid 58k before taxes in Norcal. ALL other dealers were marking up 10-17k! Savages! I was pretty satisfied with this price considering this particular color was selling before it hit the lot , no one would budge on their markup, and not many were being distributed locally. Clocked in at 7 miles when I picked it up.
2021 TRD Off-Road Premium; Super White with moonroof, with all-weather floor liners, without KDSS (stock number 8672C). I drove by three other dealers to purchase from Michael Likens at Freeman Toyota in Santa Rosa, CA.

I was specifically looking for a TRD ORP without KDSS, and had preferences for a moonroof and either the Magnetic Gray Metallic or Super White colors. I am in the SF North Bay region, so I also created a spreadsheet for Northern California dealers (including some in WA, OR, ID, UT, NV and AZ) and used their websites to track their TRD ORPs in MGM and SW to get an idea of how they were pricing and discounting their vehicles. I followed recommendations provided elsewhere to create a separate e-mail account and a throw-away GoogleVoice number (which I never used).
Initially I could not find any TRD ORPs without KDSS, but then at the end of January San Francisco Toyota had two in MGM, and their instant ePrice of $42,060 (5% off) reflected a decent discount compared with other area dealers. To see if I could do better, I contacted about 30 dealers in Northern California through their websites stating what I wanted. (There were about 10 other dealers that required phone numbers if I wanted more information, so I decided to put them on the back-burner… I never did contact them.) The types of responses I received were exactly like what [MENTION=94588]JLTD[/MENTION] posted here (which appears to be a repost of this thread in a different forum). The best of these responses (maybe three or four) said that they had what I wanted in allocation or could get one from another dealer, and a few others told me the same after I had made my final decision. San Francisco Toyota was one of the good ones; they responded to my inquiry and gave me a new price of $41,774 ($2,500 under MSRP) on what I had seen on their website. My wife, who had initiated contact with Freeman Toyota a few weeks earlier and received a really good price on a KDSS vehicle, followed up with Michael and he provided her with a spec sheet of a vehicle without KDSS that was due to come in. She asked about the price, he quoted $40,194, and I called the next day to put down a small deposit. Aware of what other people were paying for their T4Rs in Bay Area and seeing so much BS in the replies of the other dealers, the quote we received from Freeman was very appreciated and I did not try to negotiate with them. I drove it off their lot two weeks ago.
Bottom line: If you are in Northern California, know exactly what you want ahead of time, then send an e-mail to Michael at Freeman Toyota in Santa Rosa. Good price. No BS. (Search for Freeman Toyota in these forums and you will see similar recommendations.)

I found a Lunar TRD Pro coming to a dealer near me. They knew I wanted one and sent the spec. Do you think this is a fair price considering all the other mark ups out there...
- Original MSRP = $53,281 + TTL
- Negotiated price = $51K + TTL = $56,311 OTD (6.25% tax, $398 Title, 599 Wheel Locks, Tint, and Nitrogen in tires eyeroll).
I wanted $54K OTD, but considering these are hard to get and some are being marked higher should I take this as a win? They probably told me 10x how if I don't buy it they're not worried because they'll move it with no problem.

I would. Even with their ticky-tacky markups like Nitrogen in the tires that is a good deal. Anything at or below MSRP for the Pro, particularly in Lunar Rock or whatever the "special" color is in a given model year, is good (relative to the market).
MY LR '21 Pro just hit the dealer today and I'll be picking it up this weekend. Mine is 59k OTD. MSRP was about 54k with ~9% tax rate. I'm not dealing with wheel locks or Nitrogen in the tires from this dealer, but mine does have a few options that I don't want (e.g. $500 for Toyota's "paint protection film") that they wouldn't budge on removing.
In my immediate area, dealers were quoting 5-10k over MSRP, so in the grand scheme of things I feel good about it.
Yikes. Just in 2019 when I bought mine, the MSRP on the PRO was $47460. Now they are stickered at ~53k. Geez.

What is up with Washington State 4runner inventory? Last week I went to 3 different dealers looking for 4runner ORP including Larson of Tacoma. No one is budging passed a $500 discount. They say its the low inventory.
