How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Looks like I'm going to email the dealer back and tell him my offer and if he can't get there then there is no deal and he has my information if he wants to make a deal.

I got my new 2015 Trail (with KDSS) for $38,524. Note that was with a pretty substantial USAA discount, and no sales tax (one of the perks of still being a NH resident). Had they charged me CO tax (where I'm stationed), it would have been almost another $3,000. The extended warrantee also accounts for about $800 of that, but I'm thinking I may cancel it. I even got them to add running boards and the cargo cover at cost, so all in all I think I made out pretty well

Try cars.com (or another similar site) to locate what you want, then contact internet sales dept for said dealer(s) - you can usually do the initial contact via chat or email through the dealer website. A little road trip might be worth it to get what you want at a good price. Just a thought...

So here is a little update. After thinking about it the deal for '14 did not seem that great. We started talking to the first dealer we visited again and they are either going to locate a '15 or just order one.

The sale price is $39,413 + TTL. After all is said and done I can get a 2015 Trail Premium w/ KDSS for $43,100 OTD. This also includes a free Lifetime Powertrain warranty. Before I sign I am going to try to get them down a little more but looking at edmunds.com, truecar, etc the $39,400 (before TTL) is about the average paid in the TN area. If they won't knock a little more off I'm going to go for them installing the remote start and paint protection film at no charge.

Does that sound like a good deal on a '15? They are actually pretty rare down here in TN and the surround area. The closest white one now is over 600 miles away. The dealer offering the '14 actually called and I told them I'm going with another dealer and they want me to send the price to them and they might beat it. I might use that to my advantage later on if they can beat the $43,100 out the door.

The good thing about the lifetime powertrain warranty is that I can do my own maintenance. As long as I document everything and keep it around Toyota's recommended intervals, they cover pretty much everything.

So how does that deal sound?

Hey Everyone!!!

I am a proud and very happy owner of a new 4Runner.. It took weeks to locate but I settled on a new 2014 Black Trail Premium with KDSS, Under Storage Slide Out, and Running Boards for $38,500 out the door. So the sales price of the truck was $37,700.00. (Sticker was $43,000.00) Additionally on the 2014 models Toyota is offering 0 Percent financing up to 60 months. I suppose it's a ok deal, but I think the Truck is awesome. Quiet and smooth ride..

I just ordered a 2015 limited 4X4 with running boards (non-automatic), no mats for $40,300 before TTL. I could have probably gotten it for a few hundred dollars cheaper if I kept negotiating, but overall I'm happy with the price.

In my area, I found it to be a tricky time of the year to be purchasing a new 4runner. Not that many 2014 limited left and the 2015 are just starting to come out.

Hard to say. I always negotiate from the invoice price, not MSRP. What is the invoice for that truck? At this point I can't see why you'd have to pay over invoice for a 2014. If they're fairly rare down there it likely also means they have a hard time moving them.

I'm not negotiating on the '14 anymore. That dealer wasn't really willing to work with me so now we are working with another dealer on a '15 that we are most likely going to have to order directly from Toyota. I originally negotiated from Invoice and we are getting it for about $1,200 over invoice.

It's actually the opposite down here when moving them is concerned. They can't keep the Trail Premiums on the lots down here and they go quickly (when they actually have one on the lot). Looking at cars.com, etc it seems the Trail Premiums are more common out west than here in the east. There was a red '15 Trail Premium and two black '15 (at different dealers) that were on the lots for less than a week before they sold. There were two or three dealers about an hour from Nashville that had some silver ones but sold within a week or two of them getting them on the lots.

Looking at cars.com, edmunds and truecar, the price they quoted (minus TTL) is about the average paid for a '15 Trail Premium in this region.

Yes...the window sticker had MSRP of $46,149 including the ridiculous cost of $495 for the dealer installed window tint. So I guess I paid 9.4% under MSRP. Did you place the -10% offer on a 2014 or 2015? I think I got lucky by finding a 2014 with the specs I was looking for in the dealer lot. They are looking to get those out ASAP.

So I should be getting the 4runner for about $37,000 + TTL? I think my problem is going to be that it is located about 300 miles away and the dealer that currently has it might not want to give it up.

After TTL (7% sales tax on new vehicles in TN) it should be out the door at about $39,600 plus the $200 transfer cost. Does that sound reasonable and something the dealer might even consider?

One thing I'm concerned about is what he is charging me for the tag/registration fees. He said that you can usually bet on about 10% for TTL. Ok, so 7% of that is TN sales tax, I understand that. But 3% (or roughly $1,200) for titling and plate transfer? That's crazy. I called my county DMV for the fees and it only comes out to $106.50 including the county tax and everything.

Price from the dealer on just the Trail was $39,400 and based off my numbers should be a total of $42,264. His out the door price was $1,000 more than that. Where is that other grand coming from? I agree that is getting into Limited territory and based on TMV that I've found for a '14, is really high.

Based on the local TTL fees, I can get a 2015 Trail Premium in red at another dealer for the same price as the '14 and that is even if we paid their asking price.

The 3% for Titling and Registration is a bit high. In MN I do normally 6.5% sales tax plus $550 for registration and titling fees. I know it varies a bit state to state but shouldn't vary that much by the numbers he is quoting.

A Bone stock limited no third row goes for around 40,999 +TTL. So 39,400 is like a Limited that has been hanging out on our lot for 60+ days and is aged inventory.

Again the math is only off by a couple to a few grand but 42,264 still feels a grand or two over.

About a month ago I paid about 2k under sticker price for my 2014 Toyota 4Runner SR5 Premium 4WD.

Came with ..
- Automatic Start
- Entune / Upgrades Head Unit
- Running boards
- Chrome exhaust tip (dumb looking)
- Black Leather seats

If you're looking for a 2014 I would most def chop that sticker price since they are trying to push those models in order to make space for the 15's.

I cannot find any dealers willing to come down this low, probably b/c they'd be giving up all their holdback, and more...

That's a decent deal in my opinion. Perhaps you could get them to knock a few hundred bucks off .. maybe to 40K even .. but then have to ask yourself if time and aggravation is worth that bickering.

You'll see that I paid the same (40,688) as what you are being quoted. Mine was for a 2014 though ... but it did have running boards and sliding cargo too (and mats).
