Same in Nor Cal. They're not willing to negotiate, they know this is a 'niche vehicle' which is hard to find.

For what it's worth here are the numbers from my deal. Keep in mind, I only have one Toyota dealer in the entire state (multiple locations, same owner). 4Runner trails are always presold before they even get to the dealer. Typically there are only 2-4 4Runners on the lot at any given time.
With all that said, here goes:
2015 Trail w/ KDSS (non-premium) - $37,500
Winterization - $495
Doc Fee - $199
Title and License (no lien holder) - $115
OTD=$38,309
We don't have any taxes to pay, so $38,309 is it.

I am negotiating a deal on a 2015 LE with mats and have stalled at $41.4K OTD.
Is this a good deal?
Or should I wait for the 16s?
I am not that sure as to the differences between the years except for the interior dash/trim color scheme.

New 2015 Trail
I purchased a new 2015 Trail gray (non-premium) (non-KDSS) in North Carolina. There are 5 Toyota dealerships within 30 minutes of my house and this is the first trail I saw, and I bought it within 24 hours of it landing at the dealership.
Mine came with the plastic wrap on the front end, hood and door edges, the premium sound/nav, window tinting, 2 year maintenance and lifetime powertrain warranty.
I paid $36,700 not including tax, tags and title, but it did include the $650 destination fee. I also got $4,000 for my trade in when no one else would offer over $3,000 so I feel like I paid $35,700.
I probably could have negotiated a little better, and was doing well against the salesman, manager and new car director. But when my wife switched sides and started arguing against me, I had to throw in the towel. She really wanted the 4 runner.

search on the web(Cars.com) 200 mile radius: 41,500.
should I ask 40K OTD with floor mats and running boards

Have you checked autotrader.com?
Do you want those automatic running boards that clip your shins everytime you enter the truck? I'd get aftermarket and save the grand

Its my impression that the pricing for the 4runners seems to be cheapest in your region. I'd offer 39k and see what they come back at you with.

Im really getting tired of this out the door saying. Its total bullshit. Every state and city has different taxes. When someone says otd it means absolutely nothing unless they specify if it includes taxes and or tags or not. In Denver the tax on a 40k car is about $3200 and tags are about $850. This is a very informative and entertaining thread but just say total price not including taxes and tags. The tax and tags are meaningless when comparing price paid for a vehicle. Also in Colorado the new car dealer has to collect the taxes up front. On a private party sale with no bank loan you can just go to motor vehicle and claim you paid diddly squat for the car and they just accept anything you tell them and tax you for whatever the white lie is.

Yikes.
I should have clarified that I am from OR and the truck is in WA. OR has no states sales tax and only nominal licensing. Therefore, I did not factor that into the stated cost of the truck.

I got my 45k Limited for 40k even and It had fixed running boards and mats and crossbars. No tags or taxes included. The sales manager said he was giving me the whole holdback. They were a grand short on my trade though. They dont work for free I guess. If you pay 41k your doing real good in my eyes.

I currently live in SC
As far as I know there is no sale taxes for vehicles there is only a charge of 300 dollars
taxes are paid throughout the years depending on the value of the vehicle.
