Picked it up 2 days ago for $37,500 +TTL obviously not including the trade

I recently contact dealers around me regarding a 16' Limited 4WD
the best price they came back with was 44K
and would not go down
they tried to convince me for 42K for a 15' but I dislike the interior and exterior
I even showed them that I have a truecar voucher for $39800
and they told that they would not accept it since the vehicle is in high demand (BS)
will try other dealerships

2015 TEP, Nautical Blue. Came with running boards, cross bars, 4-season floor mat package, and door edge guards from the factory. MSRP of $40,019. Got it for $37,828 + TTL, and got them to throw in the chrome exhaust tip, cargo net, cargo cover and cargo tote. They also threw in a dented liftgate, no extra charge.

I've been considering a SR5 Premium for a while. Got a price thru the Costco Auto program. $36,100 which was ok considering it is for a new 2016. Did not bite the bullet as they wanted DOUBLE the money factor on a lease I have been offered by other brands I'm considering - and I have excellent credit.

Either Toyota is charging insane interest on 4Runners, or the dealer was jacking up the MF since they always seem to have to make their thousands in profit, so if they sell the car cheap, they make it on all the crap they try to sell you in the F & I office, or by whacking up interest rates. Used to be easy to buy a car lol.

So no new 4Runner for me right now. Looking at Lexus and a Mazda CX5.

2015 SR5 4x4 with nav and sliding cargo, toyoguard select (which include paint protection on door, door cups, and hood, interior protection), running board, tints, nitrogen filled tires (yeah, i laughed at them when they wanted $199 for this). i had then remove the $299 mats and $199 nitrogen. msrp was $38,011 plus tints. paid $33,700 + $599 dealer fee and TTT.

Four 2016 TRD PROs showed up in Orange County CA (south) this week (according to Toyota Inventory web page). Tustin Toyota asking $3,000 over sticker, South Coast Toyota asking $5,000 over sticker. Really greedy behavior. I sent a note to Toyota USA - no response yet.
I think all four have been sold as of today (Friday).

I have been looking throughout CA, OR and NV. Best I have been able to get for a '16 TEP w/KDSS (with a VIN attached to the offer) is $41+TTL. Tired of fighting and haggling, so I set a deposit for a truck to be delivered in October. Every dealership I have talked to thinks/knows that they are hard to find, and are using it to their full advantage. But at least it will be mine :banana:

Side note, the $47K inferno TRDP sold in SLO....

2015 trail premium

got a 2015 trail premium with KDSS, film to protect the paint and cargo cover for 40K and change plus TTL for total of 45K and change. sticker was 42500
not sure if i got ripped off. used Costco.com
another dealer had a similar vehicle quoted for 39500 but told me they had sold it when i arrived. left because i don't deal well with people that BS me.
whatever the situation with the deal i took delivery Tuesday and love it. cant wait to do all the things i have planned

what are the exact specs you want? (sr5/trail/tep/pro/ltd interior/exterior color features etc.) once you get that nailed down, see what all the dealers post on their websites for pricing. personally my goal is 10% off msrp. if i dont get it, i wait it out.
I shopped for my '15 4runner for over a year using townandcountrytoyota.com as my baseline and truecar.com. At town & country they do no haggle pricing, and i've found it to be pretty decent...I just refuse to buy from them due to bad experience with their sales staff.

Truecar.com prices are pretty close to what you can get out the door. I had a pretty good experience with my 2015 SR5 4x4 I bought about 2 months ago. They were a Truecar.com "certified dealer". Whatever that means. I feel the price was in line and fair. There wasn't all of the add on fees at the end. looked at every online price i could find, and even had a buddy look at what 2014 and 2015 were going for at auction with no warranty. Price I paid was only $1500 over what some were going for at auction. You always feel like you can get a better price after you leave, but I feel good what i paid, and it was right on the Truecar.com price.

Here's Toyota's response - pretty much what you would expect:

However, all new Toyota vehicles are sold directly through Toyota dealers and therefore the final price of a vehicle and any associated trade-in valuations are subject to negotiation between the customer and the dealer."

Drove to Oregon on vacation, went on a test drive a '16 TEP with KDSS for shits and gigs. Noticed 65 miles on the odometer, started negotiating, ended up signing papers at 38,700 + 2 tanks of gas :reddance:

Now to call the dealer that I had a resfundable deposit with for another '16 due in October that wanted MSRP to tell them that I'll be needing that cash back!

Also, should mention this is in Denver. Not sure what others have found in the region but seems like some dealers in the state won't move massively off their price and don't seem to have trouble moving these vehicles.
