How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Bought a 2016 Trail for $36980 before California taxes and DMV fees with the following options:

Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (Kdss) (KD), Radio: Entune Premium Audio With Navigation (EE-0), Keep It Wild Savings (QB), Remote Engine Starter (V4-0), Carpet Floor Mats & Carpet Cargo Mat (CF)

I bought through USAA and it was an easy process.

COSTCO in my area (San Diego) was $500 under invoice on all "2015" 4runner models when I bought my 2015 in November 2014.

Best part is you deal with the Fleet Department and no salesman is involved.
I called them, they had it, got it prepped and I was out the door in less than an hour.... no games.

The fleet guys are all on salary and not commission like the salesmen. That makes all the difference in my book when it comes to ease of transaction & professionalism.

Ive used Costco before and Id do it again in a heartbeat. No dealer around here would match that price w/o it and the best I got on my own was a $250 over invoice... and it wasnt my first rodeo at this. Most of the time I am able to get the best pricing myself, but not on this vehicle.

I bought it at Carson Toyota in Southern California. I was originally in the market for a Tacoma, but they were so overpriced I decided a 4Runner would work for my needs.

I believe Norwalk Toyota was offering a lower price, but Carson had the color and model that I wanted in stock.

That's not true at all. Costco had my 2016 TE at $37,750 +TTL. We were able to negotiate down to $35,850 +TTL. Go in with game plan and stick with it.

I am excellent at haggling but my time is worth more than $500/hr so if I'm only going to save a few hundred bucks, then factor in the obnoxious hassle factor ... Forget it.

Actually I do bill out my services @ $400/hr, but even if it were only $200/hr it'd be worth $300 to me just to not put of w/ an hour of aggravation and BS.

Took about 8 weeks to come in. Will post some pictures in a few days. I actually have not picked it up yet, did everything over the phone/mail.

That's a pretty good price, even with Costco price the dealer I'm negotiating with is still over a $1000 more than you paid with similar accessories. There are not many 2016 4Runner Trail Premium w/ KDSS in Michigan.

Rest of the story...As one dealer told me in Michigan the 4Runner I wanted was a "unicorn" and it would take months to get. Other dealers (none who had them in stock) said they would not match this price and said they would charge a minimum of over $39,000.
So I drove to Indiana, three hours each way to buy one from a dealer that had this beauty in stock. It was a long day but worth it!!!!
