I did a factory allocation with Autonation Toytoa of Libertyville, Illinois. Their price beat Truecar and Costco participating dealers in the area by a pretty good margin (7.6% off MSRP). The only port installed accessory I ordered were the carpet floor mats. Also, it has KDSS without sliding cargo deck.
Signed papers with dealer on 3/11, allocation request made 3/15, vehicle manufactured 3/22, arrives on shore 4/19, dealer estimates 1-2 weeks rail time to arrive. Fly up to pick it up 5/7. Have family in the area, so making a little vacation out of it. Highly encourage you to go get what you want when spending 40k and not having Gulf States force down your throat what they think you want.

I got a fantastic deal on my TP with KDSS. (Included cross bars, remote start and all weather mats). Paid $38k and some change on a car that stickered at $42k and change.
Pretty shocked in Colorado that I could get such a good price for one. He was willing to drop a lot off the TRD Pro as well but not as much plus I wanted a sunroof.

Hey guy new to the forum. I'm trading in my 2008 Urban Runner w/ 208000 miles and getting a new 4runner. Got quoted a price of 34,778 for a 2016 trail edition (msrp 38,085). Didn't do the deal because they were only offering me $4000 for my trade. I'm thinking that price is a pretty good one looking thru here. Thoughts on the price I was quoted and if I'm getting boned on my trade? Also, I see everyone saying get the kdss...why's that? Thanks guys!
Tell them you'll sell your car yourself and take the the deal on the new 4runner. If they won't sell the new 4runner at $34.8k, then you were about to get boned. Figure out what your car is worth then negotiate.
Value on trade in is 6-8k everywhere I look, which I feel is probably at the lower end of that. Might try to just sell outright. What have some of u guys paid for the regular trail?
Yeah, sounds like they're boning you on your trade and then giving you back some of it on the new vehicle. $4k sounds low on an Urban Runner, even with that many miles. That is a good price on the new one though.
I paid $35.5k for a '15 TE w/KDSS. No trade though. Stickered at $39kish. Had the mats, crossbars, and Entune as the only options.

Heard that Toyota is stopping production for about 1 week due to the earthquake in Japan. Since the 4runner is made there I assume that's one of the lines stopped. Guess I'll have to wait a while longer for them to make/ship my 4runner from the arrival date my dealer had given me.

I live in Houston where Gulf States say i must special order KDSS and after alot of online searching , have found the better prices with KDSS have come from dealers in Arizona, Missouri, Nevada, etc.
Work schedule preventing me from buying a 2016 Trail/Kdss for $35995 before TTL from Pretoy in AZ.
Come on, someone knowledgable get this thing statred...

Just a quick recap for anyone now or in the future in Southern California looking to get any 4runner (except for a TRD Pro). This is Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego area...
From the work I have done contacting folks, and other forum members two dealers and contacts at those dealers will not play games and it seems sell you a Trail (and I assume SR5) for a few hundred over invoice:
Carson Toyota, Dianne Whitmire
Cabe Toyota, Evan Morikawa
If you use them tell them you got their info from the Toyota 4runner forum!!!
I am still holding out for a Pro and my long shot with a connection for employee pricing. If both of those fall through and I get a Trail it will most likely be from one of these two folks. Straight shooters and really pleasant personalities.

Hopefully you can find a TRD Pro, but the Trail with KDSS are really nice trucks too! Couple hundred over invoice isn't bad, seems fair for everyone involved!
