How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Been searching for the last month and finally put down a deposit to take delivery of a '16 Trail Premium Super White with KDSS and All weather mats. $38,750 AFTER dealer/doc fees and BEFORE TTL. MSRP $41,520.

Talked to countless dealers within a 600 mile radius of Kansas City. I had a deal lined up for a gray one in Indiana for $38,500 but my wife liked the white better, so that ended up costing me an extra $250. But at least I get to go to Colorado instead of Indiana. :banana: Either way, I came in just under 7% off list which I feel is good especially for a color that was very difficult to find for me.

My deal has changed a bit. 16 trail premium with black tube steps and remote start (no kdss)
We are at $38,432 and dealer is paying ttl which would be about $1400.

Does this seem decent? If so it's ready for me to pick up this evening

Picked up a 2016 SR5 premium yesterday, sticker was 39200, TTL and dealer fees amounted to about 2200. Ended up paying 38000 OTD and negotiated top dollar for my trade. I thought it was a fair deal for both parties.

Got my 2016 Trail Premium non-KDSS (dealer add-ons of all weather floor mats, cargo tray, and pinstriping-boo!) for $38,281 which included all taxes and dealer fees. I didn't trade anything in. From the other dealers in the area, I couldn't get an SR5 Premium for that price. I feel pretty good about it which is all that matters I guess. :trophy:

I just traded in my 2016 Tacoma TRD OFF ROAD in quicksand ( it had driveline vibrations in stock form and I just couldn't fall in love with the motor) for a 2016 TRAIL EDITION with KDSS and NAV. MSRP with all the options and dealer stuff they try to add on was around $41,000. I am paying 37,461 out the door after my $1,000.00 military rebate. I did better on my 2011 but it only had the standard radio in it, but hey, now I'll have two TRAIL EDITIONS in my drive way, so thats a win.

What was the difference after trade (and MSRP of your Taco)?

I just traded in a fully loaded 2016 TRD Sport for a 4Runner Limited. Presently the 4 is at "port".

I've got a local dealer here that seems willing to work with me on a 2016 Limited with the third row. MSRP around $46k. I offered $42k and walked away. He called me up and said now he's down for it.

But that got me wondering- is it best to buy now or wait for the 2017 to roll out? Everyone is saying that they are no different. I think $42k is a good price in our area (most dealers won't budge hardly), but if the 2017 comes out, won't the deals on 2016 be easier to come by? Assuming I don't want the 2017 for updates/some other reason?

Resale (one year "newer") is the only reason I'd consider waiting. If you're going to own the vehicle for a long time no sense waiting months for a 2017.

Dealers around here don't keep enough stock of this vehicle to expect to find a discounted 2016 laying around after the 2017s ship.

Your (2016 vs 2017) question is as old as cars themselves. -$4K discount is damned good - I say take it.

2016s are not likely to "go on sale" due to 2017s. There is limited supply, and we will go through a period of limited inventory besides. And on the new 2017 end, I doubt seriously you'd see a $4k discount.

I'd say if you like the 4R in question, you had better act before someone else does. The salesguy will (or has) called every prospect he has.

Only caution I have is if you'll have a trade. Be sure you know it's worth, the dealer may need make up a grand or two on that great discount.

I agree. I was in a similar situation and I was planning on getting a good deal on 2016 by waiting until 2017 is there. But every single person told me same thing that 4Runners hardly stay on dealers' lot being a limited production vehicle and they sell pretty quickly.

As already mentioned, if you're planning on keeping it for more than 3 years then get it now otherwise wait for 2017. 2017 deliveries will be happening in late December.

I'm debating back and forth all in price 47200 for a trail, upgrade 46500 with k02 s, if it's really 2000 price difference than the upgrade package should be way less, any inputs? Or anyone get one for less? :bigok:

The 2017 will most likely have self panic braking. I would wait and would never buy a new car without the new safety features.

Not new but basically. Certified 2016 SR5 w/3rd row. 9000 miles on the odometer. I paid $35,200.... now I have the 7yr 100,000 mile warranty plus I still have the 3yr 36,000 comprehensive. I'm happy.
