How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

My guess would be that shipping would round out around 1k.. My old volvo was about that much coming in from Portland to AL. Do you happen to know if it was loaded up with dealer add on options? That seems to be a big thing here. There's a MG TEP at the downtown dealer for 50k. Has 20" wheels and billet stuffs. No thank you! I have no clue why the local dealers here insist on doing this to every Trail they allocate (which is very very few to begin with).

Yes so the SW TEP + KD

No major dealer added BS. It did have a safety feature added where your third brake light pulses when you brake. They advertise it as a $399 value, but I bet you could probably get them to throw it in, since it's not standard. They do that to all their cars. It also had factory door edge guards. That was really it, though. Maybe the wheel locks and floor mats and such. Those are pretty standard.

They add that crap because they can mark it up a ton. "Oh, we can finance that all in for ya, son!" Also, it hides the true cost of the car.

I've learned so much here I thought I would share my buying experience as it develops.

We got to the dealer and they were trying to get us into a TEP without KDSS and claimed that they were confused the day before. My wife got mad which was actually pretty cool! We went back and forth a bit and eventually they agreed to order a TEP, Silver with KDSS(which might be 2016 or 2017). We had to ask to get copies of the paperwork before we left.

They snuck in a couple charges on the price but at least it's done. Final price is $39,600 plus tax. :scared:



Now we will see how the order process goes. I will keep you all posted!

You said without KDSS but there is KDSS written on the paper. Is that a typo?

I was told the same thing.. Might get accepted for a 2016 or might be pushed to a 2017.. No one KNOWS!

Paid $42,994 for my MGM TRDP with Running Boards as the only option, waited almost 3 months for it. Essentially $500 below MSRP and full price on option(s). I live in the Dallas area and had to go to Austin to get the best deal. The Dallas area dealers are asking for $3k-$4K over MSRP for a TRDP.

You are welcome. I am being told I can get a TEP ordered with KDSS but getting a rear tray is a toss up. One is telling me the port installs these and won't install them. The other says you can get whatever option you want but then this makes it 'RARE'. I'm sorry but I am not looking at Bentley, I am looking at Toyota. Not sure what these salespeople think Toyota is...

That's what they want you to think and many dealers will only deal in this manner. I could not get as good of a deal as some have gotten from lot stock but I finally found a dealer in my area that would order and discount.. and NEVER called my configuration RARE. lol

If you are in a region of the country where Trails are stocked and optioned properly then you might have better luck but for many geographic regions they are screwed over by Toyotas geographic regional mafia who toss on 'port packages' which have nothing to do with Totoya MFG and more to do with 'max profit'.

For instance how can you have a multi-state area that cannot spell KDSS when it's part of the damn vehicle options list for NA marketed vehicles?

And how can you call a vehicle with that option 'RARE' when you are the one not ordering vehicles with those options when people seem to be asking for it. You not stocking something does not make it RARE.

That is the dealership I went to for my test drive. Nice people but they were $1500 higher than Limbaugh with Ttown being in the middle.

I also had some weirdness from Hoover in telling me that Rear Cargo trays are put in at port..but not on TE's, TEP's and TRDP's because they are swamped and can only do SR5's and Limiteds. Considering that I see posts everyday with this combo I chalked it up to a lie.

I keep coming back to the TEP having KDSS. I test drove it today and it was rock-solid, quite a difference from the LE I test drove last weekend. I should have test driven the Pro but I went during my lunch hour and ran out of time.
The Pro does look frickin' aggressive.

Hello. We just picked up a 2016 limited for $39,900. It is a CPO with 5000 miles. It is gray with rosewood interior and came with all weather mats, running boards, remote start, all weather cargo mat and the cross bars for the roof rack. So far so good, we were happy with the dealership and we love the truck!

I picked up a 16' SR5 4x4 for $37,500 out the door from Elmore Toyota in Westminster, Ca. It took me a very long time and plenty of pushing to get to this price. Elmore Toyota also gives lifetime powertrain warranties with all of their new vehicles. This was back in october of 15' but I feel I got a pretty good deal.

I gave up and decided to order one. I reached what I thought was a great deal to order one this week, but was just informed that they are now sold out of 2016s. I guess that means this latest rounds are the last of them.

Oh well, if I'm going to have to pay MSRP (or close to it), I might as well wait a few months for a cement!

I would expect that is likely true - while making small-talk with the Toyota rep this week when I picked up my truck, he indicated they just had a meeting about the 2017 Tacoma TRD PRO's and that they were not allowed to accept deposits for them until they were physically on the lot which he had never heard of for any car before. He then joked about how they were all just going to be bought by employees anyway.
