How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Hi all,
First post on this forum. Last week I signed the papers on a 16' SW TEP w/KDSS and have been trolling the forums since. After some "Tactical negotiating" the dealer and I settled on 38k, just a tad over 40k OTD. Now just trying to be patient as it was in the Pacific at the time of signing.

So received another call and my 'order' from 2 weeks ago will be in tomorrow. I have a feeling that this was not really an order but that one was sitting at port. I expected 3 mos and now I am scrambling my a** off. lol

So she's in.. Sadly I cannot get it until mid-week next week as my trade is not ready to have evaluated and appraised.

It was incredibly hard to get this vehicle here.. especially with no other additions other than KDSS and RC. Not even floor mats.

Yes, these vehicles are pretty rare...SW TEP w/KDSS are few and far between.

Oh yes.. I almost hate seeing it this way.. so basic! I don't know if you would call what I want to do extreme but I would like to:

1). Epel premium protection (full front)
2). Add an OME BP51 suspension + Total Chaos UPA
3). Trail badges and FJ55 badge
4). FN f(x) pro wheels in either flat black or satin-matte gunmetallic
5). 275.70R17 KM2
6). Gobi Ranger rack with sunroof insert
7). C4 Fab Rock Sliders + bolt on steps (Trail text)
8). Matching front tint
9). Some type of lighting upgrade (undecided)
10). Possible satin black vinyl on fender flares and front/rear fascia.

Any plans for it? Mods etc...

Got a black SR5 with sand beige interior for $34,300 and a $200 service credit to use. This is not including ttl

Similar out here in PA. If you find a TRD Pro, it will be MSRP+, I've had a couple shops claim they might deal under MSRP but that's just to get you in the door, then the BS starts. There's 3 shops I know of with the 2015 Inferno TRD Pros with between 5,000-15,000 miles on them and every one of them is priced at or over MSRP for a new TRD Pro, the highest being $48k stock. I've been quoted a wide variety of prices for the same Toyota extended warranty, 7-8yr/100,000 prices from $1450-2500. One shop even said they can't/don't offer the 8 year plan, which seemed odd.

I did find a blue TEP with KDSS for about $38K that might be tempting just to get KDSS and the moonroof, and do the lift and tires but I've seen too many vehicles messed up by shops adding lifts and or doing post lift alignments etc. that didn't really know what they were doing, especially with the extra complication of the KDSS, and I haven't seen/heard about anyone around here that does yet.

I might just wait for the 2017's to come out and see what they add, which is probably not much, but it appears there's really nothing to be gained price wise in jumping on one now. I'm in zero hurry especially if I'm going to pay anywhere near MSRP.

I'm no mechanic but I've come to the conclusion that I will have to do the lift myself if I want it done right.. There's enough material in this forum to give me a certain comfort level with it.

You can go to the shop and ask to be with the dude who works on your truck. So you can see what they are doing. If they say no leave and find somewhere else to go.

That's what I did and it worked fine. And if you never done stuff like this on a truck it will be hard with no garage tools/equipment.

Must be a special type of shop you are describing. No shops that I have ever been to let a customer hang out in the actual shop while work is going on for insurance purposes. Maybe if you are at a small one off garage this is different but this is truly a huge no no for most larger shops.

Sure, they will take you back there if they want to put your eyes on something but that's about it.

You can go to the shop and ask to be with the dude who works on your truck. So you can see what they are doing. If they say no leave and find somewhere else to go.

It was at the Toyota dealer close to where I moved. They gave me protective glasses and said go ahead. The tech and the mechanics were really cool. My wife has a Camry 2015, guess where we will be going from now on....

PS: I called another dealer the day before and they litteraly told me NO we don't touch your truck.... so it must be dealerwise idk.

Yes, that is uncommon for sure. I'm not sure if I trust any shops around where I live to do this type work. I've been burned multiple times when trying to find people to work on my Scout. Trust factor is at 1% lol
