How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

That's what I did and it worked fine. And if you never done stuff like this on a truck it will be hard with no garage tools/equipment.

I had my local Toyota dealership install Toytec 2 inch lift and they had no issue with me watching a portion of the install. Built a good relationship with them when I bought the vehicle, so perhaps that helped.

Yes, there was a trade involved but high mileage and not in good condition. Only got $3,000 since it would just go to the auction house. Same as what CarMax would give me. My basis for the deal was to get it for $38,500 + TTL or better. Others have posted getting a TEP with KDSS for $38,500 before TTL.

I also got quoted for a 10 year 120k mile warranty for around $1400 and Gap insurance for around $550. I have 90 days to decide on that from date of purchase. I've also got the quotes for the warranty that our forum member, Gamester5, has been helping others get good deals on in the warranty thread.

So if I go with the 10 year with gap I will be at $41,400 OTD with extended warranty. I don't think I need the 10 year even though I plan on keeping this one a long time. I have yet to keep a vehicle a whole decade before trading up. May go with a 6 year 100k mile instead for less than half the price.
 
That's a great deal, I did find a blue TEP with KDSS, the best they would do was $39,000 + TTL down from a listed MSRP of $41,700 and for some reason they said the highest extended Toyota warranty they could offer was a 7yr/100,000mi and that was $1600. I thought about it, but by the time I put a remote starter in it, good lift, and rims/tires I'd be over the cost of a TRD pro at full MSRP. They must be selling them because every Toyota dealer around I've talked with seems pretty uninterested in offering any good deals, even with the 2017's around the corner. Probably why I'll wait for the 2017's.

The used car market has really changed in 15 years that's for sure. When I bought my 98' S10 in 2001, it was 3 years old with 25,000 miles on it and it was less than half of what it cost new. I've looked at several 3-4 year old 4runners with 25-60K miles on them and they are only a few thousand dollars less than the same 2016 model new. A 2012 SR5 with 35K miles was $31K. It doens't seem to be limited to just popular models or Toyota either. Perhaps it's how they are trying to get people to buy new cars these days.
 
No pictures yet but I picked up my vehicle last night. Dealer was pissed that I tossed in a trade last minute but I argued that I had ordered my vehicle with an expected 2/3 months wait and they called me with a vehicle in under 3 weeks so I had no time to sell myself. Of course they low balled the hell out of my trade but lucky me went to Carmax first and had it appraised for pretty much what I owe on it. The dealer hit me for 4k under that number.

So i'll be turning in my trade to carmax sometime today.
 
Hey all. First time poster here. Been dying for a 4Runner ever since the latest generation came out, but couldn't justify getting rid of my '06 Grand Cherokee thats given me no issues whatsoever. Well, last night I finally pulled the trigger and signed a lease for a '16 4Runner Trail in Super White. The local dealer (Sunrise Toyota in Oakdale, NY) was running their end of 2016 clearance promo.

$0 trade in
0.0011 money factor (~2.6%APR)
MSRP $35,500 (took $2,600 off)
Buyout $29,700 (wont pay to buy it out, I'll probably just save up for a down-payment and finance a brand new one in 2019)

Would've liked to finance, but just cant afford it right now, trying to save some cash. Still cheap though. Unfortunately, no KDSS, as it wouldve taken 2 months to be ordered from the factory, and the promo requires delivery by next week. The only offroading I do is on the beach here in NY, so its not a must-have for me. Would've been nice though. Happy to join Team 'Yota

That being said, anyone have ideas for mods that can be easily undone? ;-)
Thinking of N-Fab Slider steps, dipping the front grill and rims (does it really peel off easily?) and possibly some beefier tires. Does anyone know of a more aggressive looking yet gas-friendly tire that will fit on a stock Trail?

2016 NBM Limited, automatic running boards, 47K in Oregon

Got a 2016 Nautical Blue Limited with automatic running boards, roof rack, all weather mats and cargo mat, and I forget what else. Got it with the 20 yr, 200,000 mile warranty on the Power/drive train for "free"(dealer gives this to all new Toyotas) for $47k in Hillsboro, OR.

And they gave me $23k trade for my 2009 TRD Tacoma Double Cab that had a couple of small dents, trailer electrical socket broke, and airbag light on.

Traded a very beat 2007 Nissan Quest (base model). It had 165,000 Miles, two front tires needed replacement, broken windshield, front bumper had a small dent, & driver's side seat had a small tear, & one bad tire pressure sensor. Got 1,000 for the van.

2015 Limited 4x4

I got a killer deal on mine. I waited a while and researched a lot, and got it out of state. But I got my 2015 Limited 4x4 with 37,000 miles on it for $36,350 out the door.

They screwed me a little because it had a leaking CV boot that I did not find out about until later and it was out of warranty so that cost me $450. But other than that I am extremely happy with the price I got!

No way a car with msrp of 47k should lease out that high.

$800/mo lease? Heck no. Might as well finance the thing if you're paying that much.
 
Are these special mats? Does the car not come with mats? Picking my car up Tuesday, but I did not buy mats, that I am aware of . . .
 
5th Gen - Price you paid?

I am picking up my TEP on Tuesday (I hope.) It was ordered in March. I will be accepting delivery if the price I was given over the phone yesterday is still the price when I see the dealer on Tuesday. Anyway, hoping for the best. . . It is kind of complicated and I don't want to go into the messy details.

I will post the price details here, if not the messy details, once everything is settled. In the meantime, if anyone would like to post the price they paid - before TTL, that would be great.

This is what I mean:
New Car Model and Year
Toyota extras such as KDSS, running boards, etc.
Price before tax, title, and license.

This will help others who want to know ballpark what a Forerunner will cost. The price of new cars should not be a mystery revealed only at the dealership . . . :cheers:
