Black 2016 TE (non-P) w/ KDSS and NAV, cross-bars, carpet floor mats, cross bars, paint protection film, ball mount. MSRP $40,115 and the dealer threw in wheel locks. $37,805 + TTL = $40,675 OTD. I know I paid a little extra to get a black one and I didn't want leather. With a 7/16 manufacture date it has to be about the last batch of 2016 models. I requested quotes from 5 dealers, 2 said "we'll let you know if anything comes in". Price was also better than with True Car voucher. Overall I am satisfied with the price and happy that I got pretty much exactly what I wanted. I can only imagine that if the TE and TEP are going to be the TRD O/R models next year that the price goes up significantly for badging.

All the members helping thanks you can get a trail with kdds of course 3 m on the front cargo liner, Toyota mats,trailer hitch, husky liners front and back,cargo cover, cargo tray, and cargo net out the door all included for 47000, or an upgrade for 45500, in Albertabest I could do and that was searching all of Alberta and into Saskatchewan.

Just bought a stock '16 TE in the GTA for 1.9% over invoice. In addition, I was able to add a rebate for $500 that Toyota sent via an email.

Without telling us what provincial tax jurisdiction you're in that doesn't help much.
I'm currently searching in Ontario with 13% HST, and getting around $51300 OTR via unhaggle. Talking to a few other dealers today hoping to do better.
Also found a white 2016 T4R Trail locally with only 3000KM. Tempted, but the dealer wasn't willing to drop the price enough to make it worthwhile compared to new (after negotiation they were still a few hundred above my "buy it" price.) Out of Hallmark Toyota outside of Toronto if anyone is interested. They claims it was a "buyer's daughter didn't like it, returned it for a Highlander" situation, but I'm always a bit wary of customer buy-backs like this.

I'm not aware of any differences since 14, but google's first hits prompt these threads:

I would guess that the only major difference between the 14, 15, and 16 is that you can buy the 16 at a dealer* but good luck with used 14 and 15 models (or at least, I hope you have better luck than me!)

$50,200 OTD on a Barca Red Trail in Calgary...w/undercoat, 3M and 5yr extended warrenty. Had it under at $48,500 a few wks ago but apparently Toyota upped the price. Not sure if this is a great deal, but when I told another dealer in town he basically said he couldn't do it.

You are right about the price increase. I noticed that as well. It has gone up at least twice since the beginning of the year. First in Feb-March and now in August.

For the record, I just signed for a white or silver or grey 2016 4Runner Trail Edition (Canada) with no add-ons or upsells or accessories, in the Toronto area for $50800 on-the-road all inclusive (just over $43000 base price before standard fees and taxes.)

A blanket 13% VAT on goods in Ontario (varies slightly across the country) adds a good chunk for sure.
But the base vehicle price after converting currencies and similar trim lines, is essentially a Trail Edition Premium for US$33500 at the current 0.77 exchange rate. So it's not too far off.
I was cross shopping a Honda Ridgeline and the US vs. Canada pricing and trims there are wonky. It's quite expensive in Canada, but compared to the US$ after currency exchanges it's cheaper.
Not to mention that in Canada, Ridgelines get cool things not even offered in the US, like ventilated seats, the CD player, wiper heaters, tilt down mirrors, rear zone auto climate control, etc. So a lot of USians are jelly of our "Canadian Pricing and Trim".
For the T4R I don't think Canadians get anything that's not offered as part of the TEP in the US, it's just that we can't break out things like KDSS as options, so it's a bit trim level bundle with no options.

I did trade in my 2013 LE with 60k on the clock for right at KBB. The price above for the new one was prior to trade in value. I also asked them to swap wheels and tires since I wanted to keep my SCS Stealth 6 and KO2's.
All in all, I'm loving the new one even if it doesn't have leather or sunroof. I plan to add heated and cooled katzkins later anyways.
