How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Paid about the same for mine. 35.2k and immediately sold the factory running boards and carpet mats.

i've been trying to sell my running boards for 4 or 5...maybe 6 months. did you basically give them away, or did you make something?

Sold them for $200. They are the black crushed oval running boards with a list of $499. I put them on CL and basically had a buyer within the day. I wanted to sell them before I moved so I priced them fairly I suppose.

That's not a bad offer, out here in PA I've had offers on TEP with KDSS in the 38,600-39,500 range, similarly equipped.

The interesting one is asking about the cost of the Toyota Platinum extended warranty, on the 8yr./100,000 I've been quoted from $1200-$2200.

At least around here dealers seem to have no motivation to deal beyond their first below MSRP price. I've called a couple of them out on the high warranty quotes and they've pretty well just said take it or leave it.

I actually got mine in PA drove from VA after getting screwed by the local dealer that was supposed to have one coming in I signed for.

Seems strange to me. What did they actually say?

They wanted to know why I didn't just pay cash for my car and why I "wasted their time financing" everything.

I told them because I needed a rebate that was only offered if I financed and they still made about $200 in interested and a $75 early payment penalty. I also said if they didn't want me to get the rebate they should have negotiated more money off the sales price and that I would like my payoff letter ASAP so I can get my title from the DMV.

2016 TEP with KDSS

Anyone in the state of Washington received a great deal on a 2016 TEP with KDSS? (Purchased a 2016 Tacoma 4x4 and absolutely hate the new transmission so I want to trade it in). If so, what dealership did you purchase from and were you able to get it at invoice or near it.

Thanks

Liking these replies. I intend on paying cash for a NEW '16 Trail or Trail Premium. Hoping to spend no more than 38k.

Go for it. Cash really isn't going to help you, as they make money off the financing.

I'm just finishing up paperwork, ended up with a Barcelona Trail Prem with the sliding cargo tray and the paint protection film over as much as possible for right under $38k. MSRP was just shy of $41k iirc.

Was only able to swing that at my local dealer after getting a competing quote (similarly equipped Trail Prem with KDSS for $38.8).

They also had to order it from port, so that took a little bit of my leverage out, but oh well.

Most dealers down this way don't seem to want to deal much at all off MSRP, probably due to 4wds being so rare in this region. 2wd SR5s are a dime a dozen.

Ok guys signed the papers for my Trail Premium with KDSS and cargo cover for 38,800, they have to trade for it so sometime next week is when I get to take it home.

In summary I went to four dealers:
1-quote 42,000
2-38,983
3-38,800
4-told I had a quote of 38,800 and they flat out said they couldn't match that.

I am glad it's over

About in line where i was at. Dealer #2 (local place to me) tells me the story they can't sell them that cheap and they are losing money, but they still met (and barely beat) dealer #1's price. It's bit of legwork, but the savings is worth it.

Should be able to. I bought my TE w/ KDSS in August for 38k out the door total TTL. If you are willing to shop different states you can get these kind of deals. May be harder the later into the model year it goes.

Don't tell them you are paying cash, they make money on financing so they will deal more on price if they think they can make it up in financing kickbacks.

Then once you have the final price, locked and ready, tell them you changed your mind and are going to pay cash.

Or just make sure there is no early payoff penalty and finance and pay off the whole thing with the first payment.

16 SR5 Premium in Metallic Gray for 36,955 a couple weekends back.

MSRP 38,565

Talked to about seven dealers got my best offer took it to he local dealer. Told them what I was offered and they met it. Told them I wanted black, but I actually wanted Gray, they didn't have black in SR5 Premium, just Trail Premium. Said I wanted the one being shipped to them or the Trail Premium if they split the difference. They came back with a better offer for the Gray one, and I signed on.

Love it! First 4Runner. Had an 03 Acura MDX, 07 Lexus RX350 and 13 Honda Pilot. I can say I love the 4R the most! Even though I still miss the MDX.

Weird! I usually do the same because dealers drop the price lower since they'll have some financing kickbacks, but I've never gotten a nastygram about it.

This post would have some utility value if your location field were filled out.

2016 SR5 Premium w/ 3rd row, Remote Start, Running Boards, and every other little thing you can imagine- including a dealer installed Ready Lift ($1300) paid $40,336 OTD. Good news is- had a totaled '14 SR5 that insurance paid me $37k for so when it was all said and done my payments went down. Dealer financed $17,500 at a 2.5% rate.

Hi Everyone,

New here and just sharing in case anyone finds it useful...

Live in NYC but found a good deal(I think) 3 hours away in Rhode Island.

2016 MGM Trail Premium
- KDSS
- Roof Rack Cross Bars
- Carpet Flooe Mat & Cargo Mat
- Wheel Locks
MSRP $41,825

Paid $37,735 + fees/taxes/registration, etc

hockeypuck08 that's about the best I could get for that setup.

About a month ago I got a 2016 SR5 Mag Grey for $30.9k before tax/title/etc. I believe MSRP was $36.5k and 'invoice' was $34.5k

I live in MA

Take it with a grain of salt, but I believe a big factor is being forgotten in this thread, trade in vehicle/value.

I picked up my 4Runner yesterday, but while doing research I read through this thread to get a basic idea what others were paying so I could see what to expect.

Now I could say I am paying around $32,500 for a Trail Premium. Technically, I am. But that is only due to trading in a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon which I owed $18k on, and the dealer paid me $23.5k for.

The price they give you for your used car also is taken into consideration with how much they are willing to reduce the price off MSRP. It's all a numbers game. If you are just out to get a low purchase price, it's easy for them to low ball you on your trade and just plan on making more money off it.

And as already noted above, the financing is another area where the dealer has incentives. I was approved for Toyota 2.99% for 72 months. That was lower than my bank offered, but Capital One (who my Jeep was financed through) came back with a lower rate. I notified the dealer of my intentions to take the lower rate (of course). They, only then, did some digging and were able to secure me an even lower rate (than capital one) for the same terms. It benefitted them and I as they still got credit and I still pay less in interest. Win Win.

Not trying to tell anyone how to purchase a vehicle, just trying to throw out there that it's a lot more than someone just saying "Well this guy paid $XXX for his 4Runner, so I'm going to my dealer to demand the same price".
