How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Magnetic Grey :thumb:

Nice. I really wanted blue or something, but the pickings are slim for 4x4s in FL to begin with. Did you get that vibe too? They had tons of 2WD 4Runners, and the salesman was even like "Are you sure you want 4x4?" :rockthrow:

They had a Trail listed for like $41k or something stupid in Magnetic Grey but I needed 7 seats and the extra money for KO2s, TRD wheels, sliders, air, skids, etc :hippie:

Edit: I should explain that I did *not* want white at first. ;) but it has since grown on me a lot.

Went through the same thing when i bought my SR5 in Jax. Hey, we have sand! :hungry:

Can someone please explain how you can pay for BOTH Running Boards and Rigid Running Boards?

Dealer's Price: $35,816
MSRP: $38,230
Price dropped by $2,414

SUPER WHITE

Over $1,300 in Options included.
Running Boards $599
Rigid Running Boards $345
Radio: Entune Premium Audio With Navigation $345

If you Qualify: Expires: Jul 5, 2017
Military Appreciation Discount: $500 Cash
:ak472:

That's about $34,000, lower than Base price if you incl the options and Military discount.

Oh absolutely! I was emailing back and forth before going into the dealership and they pulled up a 2WD initially and was surprised when it wasn't the one I wanted...They are certainly not very popular down here but I plan on venturing to GA, NC, etc.

Joined 5th gen crew on Saturday. Got a '16 Trail Edition for $37.4 OTD. Probably would've been cheaper had this dealer not had so many damn random fees.

Edit: Has Entune Premium and remote start, both of which aren't so great, hahah. No KDSS.

paid $36,600 for a SR5 4x4 with tow receiver, roof racks, all season mats, running boards, nav and entune (unsure if it differs) and 3rd row seating in Colorado springs, Co

First Super White 2017 T4R Premium to N.C. from port

I took delivery of my 2017 Super White Premium Package with 3rd Row Seating and Running Boards last Friday, January 13th 2017 (I know, Friday the 13th, and I worried all the way home until I parked it in the garage)
Paid $37,500 Out the Door. This included everything, Fees, tag, taxes, etc.etc.
Total price.

Wifey loves the heated power seats.
Already in process of adding accessories that I did not want to pay dealer prices for.

How tough was it to get that deal? Seems like ordering a 2017 exactly the way you want it is the same price or comparable to what they're asking for a 2016.

I imagine dealerships, like any business, have varying cost structures. Location plays a large factor given the demand, local competition, and general affluence of the supporting population.

I've gone through TruCar and Costco buying programs in addition to contacting a half dozen other dealers for a silver SR5P w just the 3rd row option. I found one 16 with 500 miles for more than my inbound 17. Some of those dealers reach out weekly and still cannot find my silver unicorn.

Like any forum, a lot of the posts are from folks seeking solutions to their problems. For car forums, amongst those complaints you also find all the great deals people struck. Rarely however will you find someone saying how much they overpaid.

My deal is not done but I am at $36,800 before tax title license which is the only comparable figure to use.

Those buying programs are great if you don't like to negotiate but you can usually get a lower price on your own. The lone exception is these "one price" dealers, if they participate, these programs are usually below their "one price" which can be hard to do without it. (I loathe these dealerships btw).

An important tact in car buying is not appearing desperate for a specific vehicle, even if you are. In this case, you are fine waiting on a 17, so make sure the dealer holding the 16 knows it. He should have to work hard to unload his 16 and steal a sale from another dealer. Always play them against each other because competition is more motivating than the idea of a customer dictating terms. Sometimes how you word it is key.

ETA: I wonder if any of these TRD Pro buyers have tried using the program pricing for the dealers trying to get full MSRP or more.

I let them know that I was in no hurry to be pressured into taking another 2016 model simply because they had dozens of Silver and Mag Grey to choose from. I wanted White, and for this much money, I was not going to compromise. After 5 days of haggling, the two (only two 2016's with 3rd row) disappeared during the week between Christmas and New Year, and I had already signed a Buyers Order. So, they were given no choice but to supply me a vehicle with the options I demanded, or I walk away with my money. Two days later, they called to tell me my 4Runner had just been unloaded from the Port...and it was a 2017.
GLEE for me.
So, with that said, I don't have a clue if the same tactics would work again. But as we all know, the dealer only made 'less' money, but did NOT lose money.
