How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Almost as if someone did a TRD Pro swap with another vehicle or perhaps it was wrecked. That price is insane, only a wuffo would buy that. There is at least one or two new TRD Pros' in the area here for $43k too.

Generally speaking, are people getting good deals with Costco or TrueCar? Anyone have any luck with Carmax for a new vehicle?
I am looking for an AWD '17 Limited with 3rd row I like Black or Blue w/ brown interior but I can tolerate any of the color combinations.
I can pay cash, but wondering if I will get a better price if I finance and then pay it off the first month or two...
Any thoughts?

My price was from TrueCar and it looks like I got a good deal. Never had a good experience with CarMax prices. I bought through the PenFed New Car Buying Service. You can get a bonus $1k off if you're military. You can find my price in my posts back a page. Their rate for 36 months is 0.99%, my guess is that you will get a better deal using TrueCar and financing.

Same here, I'm up in NW. My local dealer will do a decent deal, for instance I was quoted today on TEP KDSS, Moonroof

Price $41087
Includes 100k powertrain warranty as well, non transferable
That's their no haggle price and I would have to put in an order, but virtually no other dealerships in the area are going lower than MSRP by more than a few hundred bucks.
Your best option is to use the Costco membership and get it for around $2100 off MSRP and not have to haggle, but again you would have to order it.

I bought my 2015 TE through Costco. It was the best deal I could find anywhere in So Cal. I live in Pasadena (10 minutes from the entrance to Angeles Crest and the San Gabriel Mountains). I paid under $37k at the time. I forget the exact number.
Costco sent me to Manhattan Beach Toyota for the deal. I ordered the TE I wanted, without most of the Toyota accessories and extras. I even skipped the floor mats, knowing I'd order the Weather Tech floor mats. No roof rack rails, I eventually bought a Baja Rack in a group buy. It took 6 weeks or so for the vehicle to come in from Toyota. They're all built in Japan. Why pay more?

Yes, I believe you are. Costco states the price before you visit the dealer in the Costco network. But I knew the price was a thousand less than any deal I could get from a dealer, even on a good discount day. I didn't try to haggle. I did have to negotiate the actual cost without the accessories I didn't want but the prices were deducted at MSRP for those accessories. Like I said, I ordered it the way I wanted, without extras. I wanted aftermarket parts that were designed for rugged off-road use. There's no comparison between factory side steps and decent rock rails for off-roading.

New to the forums and just picked my 4Runner up this past weekend. I scored a Super White 2016 TEP w/ KDSS for $38,200 + Tax/Title, etc, which looks to be about $1000 under invoice. Not bad considering this was my ideal 4Runner that I did not expect to purchase.
To those who are looking for Trails, or even TEP models, there are several Silver 2016 Trails leftover in the Chicagoland area advertised within $1,000 above invoice, which is still a couple thousand below MSRP. Truecar helped me get within $200 of invoice and when I walked in the door they mentioned invoice right off the bat. There seems to be a lot of excess 2016 Trail inventory in Illinois, or possibly other flat states.
There are definitely some great deals out there right now if you look for it. Thanks to lurking in this thread, I finally pulled the trigger!:nicethread:

I am a Costco member and used their service to get my 17 TRD ORP. I paid 40,1xx out the door for it, with N-Fab steps installed. Go check out Costcoauto.com to see the price difference. Buying a $55 one year membership is worth it to save $2,000. Their gas is also top rated too (and its almost always the cheapest)

Just put a deposit on a '16 TEP in Chicago for $35,500 + TTL. Sticker was $40,388. I'm flying up there next week and will drive it back to Texas. This was better than I could do on a '16 TE at a local dealership.

Total MSRP was $42,335, sales price was $40,241. By my estimation, their true cost was $37,100. So I got a 5% discout off MSRP, and they made 8.5% on the deal + $750 that Toyota ate, not counting the trade-in side of the equation.
Not a great deal to be sure, but everything around here is either an SR5 or Limited and the TRD O/R and Pro models are harder to find. Used market was also largely useless.

- cross bars
- nerf bars
- premium paint protection
