How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Just put a deposit on a '16 TEP in Chicago for $35,500 + TTL. Sticker was $40,388. I'm flying up there next week and will drive it back to Texas. This was better than I could do on a '16 TE at a local dealership.

Awesome deal! Yes, they are definitely sitting around up here. Less so with the TEP but they seem willing to deal further on them if they are here.

Hey all, i'm new and can't start a new topic yet, but I'm looking for a discussion or feedback on which model to purchase. I plan on buying a new T4R, I'm going to put 6-10K in aftermarket work. So is buying the TRD Pro even necessary for the extra money? If I'm doing the aftermarket work is there anything I really need that can't be done aftermarket in the other models?

I think you got a very good deal there. I live in the Northwest I just paid $35,600 out-the-door the same as yours. Truecar.com says average people pay
$36885 for mine.

I am just happy I got it $2277 under MSRP.

Picked up a White 17 TRD Off Road with KDSS for $37,163 and will be delivered on the 4th. Wanted a pro but after reviews on suspension and local mark up ($50K) I decided to pass as KDSS was a major priority for me.

Just picked up a 17 SR5 Premium in Nashville out the door At $36,500. They had me on an Off road premium at 38,500 but chose the SR5 because the TORP did not have KDSS so it was basically an SR5 with TRD badging and the crawl assist etc.

Sticker on the TORP was about 40,100 and my SR5P was about the same and got out 2k less.

I figure if the plan is to build it to my own specs and I am not constantly off road that I could give up the crawl assist and TRD badging (interior trim, hood scoop, crawl assist etc.) to save a few bucks and build up the SR5.

My first T4R so maybe I will feel differently the more I learn. 1000 miles in and I love it so far.

Sticker was 41500 I believe, had it delivered from GA to SC.

Makes sense, for me I wanted the pro but the more I read up the more I wanted to stay away. Living in AZ leather seats for me are a huge no go, the suspension would get replaced anyways and I really do not dig the TRD wheels and no KDSS option. So like you said save a few K and build how we desire.

Not knocking your deal nor decision but the most obvious and biggest difference between SR5 and Trail is the locking rear differential. You seem to have left that out. Just an FYI.

I have found 1.75 through LA federal credit union for a 48 month loan and 1.99 through logix for a 60 month loan.

Anyone have recommendations on buying one in California? I've never bought a new vehicle here (moved here a few years ago), and it seems everyone who owns any sort of truck says to go to Oregon, or another state and buy them.

Does California really nail you that bad? Trying to figure out if it's better to do that or stay in house to buy one.

We pay 8% tax here in Tucson AZ and its brutal TBH. But if you are trading anything in with significant value it helps as you only pay tax on the remainder.

If you are registering in California you still pay the sales tax even if you bought in Oregon. You just pay it later when you go to register.

Yeah. Just got mine on 4/21 for $800 off MSRP. Carson Toyota.

The pros:
1) Got exactly what I wanted. 2017 4Runner TRD ORP in Barc Red
2) Service was great. Thomas and Dianne Whitmire were both fantastic. Dianne actually took the time to check her incoming inventory to try and find me the one I wanted.

The cons:
1) It was a 3 week wait for the ship to deliver. That was like the weeks on the ship heading back to the US from my deployments.... nowhere near fast enough.
