$37,868.03 for a new 2016 TE w/KDSS. Other options: Entune radio, roof rack cross bars, floor mats, and the all-important and indispensable chrome exhaust tip (adds a dyno-proven 20hp at the rear wheels).
This price includes an extortionate $499 for dealer profit adders: window tint, door edge guards, and "door cups" (basically the clear plastic sticky circles that bulk mailers use to seal multi-page ads, stuck on the car behind the door handles).
It also includes another bleed-the-customer $199 charge for one of those "preferred protection" plans that involve etching the VIN on the windows.
Try as I might, I could not get the dealer to budge on those items. Because I was willing to drive to Flagstaff, AZ from the L.A. area, the sales manager (correctly) figured he had me by the cojones.
Still, at least the base price was around invoice, and for those interested, I believe there's one more 2016 TE KDSS available in Magnetic Gray.

Trying to decide which to do. Am I correct in saying the 2016 Trail and Trail Premium differences are the moonroof, seat material, and heated seats? Is that it? Am I missing something else?

I'm no expert, but sounds like the standard customs stuff. I've had computers sit that long that have come straight from China.

Definitely irritating. I struggle finding the one I want here because everything has to come with KDSS. I can get one back at home in VA, but really want to avoid making the drive back unless I have to.
I don't even know if they'll bring one all the way from there to here (VA to CA), but I guess I'll find out. Waiting to hear back from the wife's one client who owns one of the massive auto malls here and see if she'll do any special deals.
Not sure if that's the case for you, but for me I'd have to wait, though I'd be irritated. Anything possibly in the way? Flooding? Storms? Etc?
Nope. Its just waiting to be loaded on a truck. Once that happens, its two or three hours to drive from Houston to Austin. But the dealership won't know its on the truck until they actually unload it. LLBean should start a dealership.
I've looked at some off roads, really didn't do my homework on them until I made a deal, and it seems most of them in Texas don't have KDSS. What my dealership told me is they can't custom order them, but they find one somewhere in the supply chain and claim it. Mine was on a boat when they "secured" it. I decided to get only what I wanted, which is why I couldn't find something on the lot. In retrospect, if I'd gone for the Off Road Premium, I probably could have gotten close to my price and I'd be driving it now. Live and learn.

Yeah you'd think they'd have a better way of tracking a vehicle, especially one that is claimed. Never been in the auto business though so I can't think to know what or why it's done that way.
No go on my wife's client doing anything as she doesn't sell Toyota's anymore. Is going to give us the info for someone else here in Central California who she claims is the best out of all the local dealerships. Again though, cannot get a Trail or Trail Premium without KDSS. Not against KDSS, but with a lift later it's basically pointless to get it as far as I'm concerned.
If I were in VA still I'd be walking away today with a 4Runner.

Just paid $39,555 OTD for a 2017 SR5 Premium 4wd with 3rd row, moon/sunroof and all weather mats. Had it delivered from Tennessee to Florida on a flatbed for another $500.

My dealership saying they can't bring a vehicle from another state....Not sure if this is true or not, but unless they plan on giving me a crazy deal for a 2017 I'm not going to bother giving them anymore time.

I paid $32,641 out the door for my 2017 classic silver TRD Off Road with Toyota platnium guard, all weather floor mats, clear paint protection, and Etune premium audio with navigation.
