How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

I think that is a fair deal for a TRD Pro. Take it if that is what you want but your math is a little off on the upgrade and price differential. A TRD Off Road is $38,375 (the basis for the TRD Pro) and you can negotiate them for 6% off all day long making them $36,072 + TTL for a real world difference of $5,922. You can get the wheels for $$185/wheel ($740) and BFG KO2s for $1000 (assuming no credit on your Dunlops), and upgrade to TRD Pro equivalent suspension for $1500. So conversion costs $3,240 and you still save $2,682. Now if you want the cosmetics of the TOYOTA garnish then you will be out another $600 but would still have 2k in savings over the TRD Pro. There is no cost justification really for the TRD Pro over getting a Trail/TRD Off Road unless you like a unique color or just want it

You're spot on with the pricing of the TRDOR, wheels and tires. But if i was to go with the TRDOR i wouldn't get a suspension equivalent to the TRDP. I think i would go for an upgrade to plan for the added weight in the future.

Absolutely! Though the 6112/5160 setup (basically the Pro suspension) is well reviewed for most use cases and you can adjust the height without spacers.

I was not aware SofTex was an option on the Off Road?? Also, I think Entune is an option on the Off Road and standard on the Off Road Premium. So either you are mistaken or you need to update your cost analysis to take these differences into account.

You are correct. The Trail Premium of past had a moonroof and make it hard to compare and the TRD Off Road Premium is not a direct compare due to things like missing homelink, auto-dimming mirror, passenger power seat and turn signals in the mirror missing on the TRD Pro so the Pro is an amalgum of the Off Road and Off Road Premium (it looks like it is really and Off Road with the Softex Seat Covers so adjust the price on that).

Actually the only thing missing from Pro with regard to your list is signals in mirrors (see information at link below). In addition, the Off Road does not come standard with the upgraded Entune.

As someone who makes buying decisions based on value, as perceived by the market, you will never come close to replicating the TRD Pro by starting off with an Off Road Premium, especially if you get a special color rig.

I have called all the dealerships in the valley and there is one on a boat on its way in the configuration I'm looking for, for the most part. I have to have white, it's an Arizona thing, no KDSS, no sliding tray, outside of that I don't care what else it may have on it as long as those things above are fulfilled. I don't really want the sunroof but it has it so whatever. It's white and no KDSS. MSRP Is: $38,926.39

Seems high. You're paying full MSRP + a very high doc fee of $499 (plus tax and tags, obviously non-negotiable.) I'd expect that for a TRD Pro, but not an ORP.

Maybe a combination of your region, plus it being hot off the boat?

Seems crazy high. $33553 +TTL in Houston (brought him a check for $36k in January 2015). Non premium Trail model with a few bolt ons, otherwise vertical similar. Fly out to Dallas or Houston. Group 1 , auto nation or Sonic are the walmart of car sales.

I'm in El Paso and was offered $41,500 OTD (included all fees), my price dropped some after I then negotiated my trade in, though the $41,500 OTD price was not contingent on my trade-in.

Let me know if you're still looking and perhaps the dealership I used in El Paso can be of some help.

Hi guys/gals. I'm a new 4Runner owner from Northern Virginia. I purchased my new 2017 Magnetic Gray SR5 4x4 (MSRP: $37,519) a couple weeks ago for $34,400 OTD after taxes, tags etc... I price shopped many dealers in the DC area and ended up purchasing from the Toyota dealer 10 minutes from my house as they easily offered the best price. I highly recommend Sheehy Toyota for new car sales for anyone looking in the mid-atlantic region.

The only option it has is running boards. They are claiming it has the "premium radio" which charges an additional 345 dollars. It's the regular radio that comes standard so I'm not sure why they are upcharging for it.

The sticker says 37,060. I tell them if you can cut me a good enough deal I'll buy it. They hand me the "deal sheet". They add 1000 to the sticker price and take 2500 off. This effectively takes 1500 off of sticker. I tell them "have a nice day" and leave.

For giggles I sent them an email that says for 34,500 out the door, I'll do it. They say no way. Later they call back with 37,760 out the door. I point out their math error. They say the price is actually 38k even though the sticker says 37k.

What do you folks think is a fair price for a stripped down '16 SR5 4x4? Or do you think I should just not bother?

Hmmm...a lot of it really depends on where you live and how many Toyota dealerships are within driving distance of you. Have you priced it out on TrueCar? I looked and unfortunately the sales figures for the 2016's aren't available, but you should be able to see what people in your area are paying for similarly equipped 2017's.

The "final best" price they came back with is 100 dollars less than the one in the "text message" above for a way better equipped vehicle. I think they aren't offering a deal yet. I'll take it off their hands but I'm not doing it for retail. It already has a years worth of depreciation and it's getting ready to be two when the 18's come out.

I just noticed you signature said you're in NOLA, so I went ahead and did a search on Cars.com and it says the white 2016 at Brandt Toyota is the only 2016 within 150 miles of a New Orleans zip code I punched in. I'm assuming this is the 4Runner you're talking about .

The good news is that there are a handful of 2017 4Runner 4x4's within 150 miles. What I would do if I were you is start working those dealerships via email and phone inquiries for the lowest price on a 2017. Once you get the lowest price among those, I'd take it back to Brandt and offer them $2k less than your lowest offer on a 2017. If they balk, there's nothing you can do. And in that case, I'd go for the lowest OTD offer you get on a 2017. Of course, factor in time and the money you'd spend on gas getting to whatever dealership you choose.

You might also want to consider checking out the dealerships in the Atlanta metro area. I read it's one of the best areas in the country to get a good deal on a new vehicle. Plus being further north, they're going to have more 4x4's than your area. It might be worth it for you to take a friend or family member on a weekend trip up there after you've fleshed out a few dealerships who have what you want and are willing to deal and give you a written OTD quote. The $$$ you save will probably be worth more than you'd spend a few tanks of gas and a couple nights in a hotel.
