How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

I just started looking for a 4Runner. I found a 2016 on the lot. It's a SR5 4x4 it is brand new with 27 miles on it.



The only option it has is running boards. They are claiming it has the "premium radio" which charges an additional 345 dollars. It's the regular radio that comes standard so I'm not sure why they are upcharging for it.



The sticker says 37,060. I tell them if you can cut me a good enough deal I'll buy it. They hand me the "deal sheet". They add 1000 to the sticker price and take 2500 off. This effectively takes 1500 off of sticker. I tell them "have a nice day" and leave.



For giggles I sent them an email that says for 34,500 out the door, I'll do it. They say no way. Later they call back with 37,760 out the door. I point out their math error. They say the price is actually 38k even though the sticker says 37k.



What do you folks think is a fair price for a stripped down '16 SR5 4x4? Or do you think I should just not bother?

Walk away from that dealership. I got $4000 off sticker on my 2016 SR5 premium in March of 2016. The 2018's are on the lots so that runner is, technically, two years old. Shop around and you'll get a 2018 for better than what they are offering.

Hi guys/gals. I'm a new 4Runner owner from Northern Virginia. I purchased my new 2017 Magnetic Gray SR5 4x4 (MSRP: $37,519) a couple weeks ago for $34,400 OTD after taxes, tags etc... I price shopped many dealers in the DC area and ended up purchasing from the Toyota dealer 10 minutes from my house as they easily offered the best price. I highly recommend Sheehy Toyota for new car sales for anyone looking in the mid-atlantic region.

That price (34,400 OTD) is effectively what I offered them for the '16... they balked. I'll be in Virginia in October maybe I need to head up your way.

You read my mind when I was editing my previous post, haha. The DC area is definitely one of the best places to get a great deal. I can't speak for the dealerships south of Fredericksburg though (Richmond, Norfolk etc...). But yeah, if you have any questions about the dealerships (specifically which ones to avoid), feel free to PM me. I dealt with quite a few of them over the two weeks I was shopping and my experiences varied greatly.

I found out that the company that I works for allows me to get H-Plan pricing on Toyota's. But... they can't quote a price on the '16 year model so I'm writing the 16 off.

Is there a certain time of year that they introduce incentives on the 4Runners? Or are they in such demand that they never do this?

I've been eyeballing for a 17 TRD Offroad in white, and it seems like the 4X4 are hard to find here.
Regardless, is 38k OTD a reasonable OTD price for a white 17 TRD Offroad? Or should I try to go lower?

They don't do advertised incentives on 4Runners or Tacomas due to the fact that they have the best resale value among new vehicles. Your best bet is to buy a 2017 in a competitive dealer market (like DC/Northern Virginia as previously discussed) as the 2018's are being rolled out. The dealers have their own non-advertised factory incentives as they would with any previous-year model vehicles they want to move off their lots.
