At least you don't have a Personal Property Tax... That is a complete rip off! You pay for what you already paid initial taxes for and own out right every single year! Its not a little amount either. These Crooks are taxing us based vehicles are assessed on a prorated basis at the rate of $4.33 per $100.00 of the value. EVERY SINGLE YEAR!!!

I feel your pain, NH has no "sales tax" and no income tax, but they kill you on property tax and tax cars as "personal property" every year, so when I went to register the 4Runner at the town hall they hit me for over $800.00 bucks!! ouch! Oh, they also base the tax assessment on the window sticker price of the vehicle, so no matter how good at haggling you are, the tax man still gets his 2.3%!

Picked up a 2018 Limited 4x4, 3rd row, auto running boards, mag. gray with redwood interior last week. Not as cool as some of the other rigs I'm seeing here, but I totally love this thing. Sticker was 48,079 (included all weather mats and cargo cover), paid 44,600 but i managed to get 23k for my 2012 sr5 4runner trade. Taxes here in new york suck but i only had to pay it on the net after trade. Dmv, reg. and other misc other fees were less than 200.

I'm in East Texas, looking for a 2018 4Runner; one dealer quoted me 36k for a Premium with leather seats (which seems like a start), another quoted 38 for a standard 4R with leather seat upgrade, 36.5 +1.5 k (which I think is not a good start). I also have a trade-in which will add to the mix.
I've reviewed all posts from April 2016 to now, there's a lot about ORP but that's more than I really need. What's a good price for Premiums in Texas nowadays? Thanks!

Assuming you mean TRD OR Premium, $36K is cheap. They don't know about your trade do they?

I just paid $35,700 before TTL & Trade for a '17 Premium in NY. You're looking at a roughly 9-10% discount off MSRP, which is a pretty good deal regardless of location. I say go for the $36k premium.

You’re right, $36k still a solid deal for an SR5 premium.

The reason I asked about the dealer knowing about trade is because, once you tell them that, they often lower the price of the new vehicle to make it seem like a deal to get you in there... and then just get their money by ripping you on the trade. Always, always, always work the new car price first, and don’t even mention the trade until that’s done. They’ll still try to bend you over on the trade, but it makes it easier to negotiate that by itself.

Anyways, they're asking $33k. Is that a fair deal for the year, package/extras, and mileage? According to the CarFax, brakes all around were just replaced, and new battery/wipers.

Anything I should be concerned about buying a 4r with that many miles?

Miles wouldn't scare me but why pay that much for a used one when deals are to be made on new 17's without the miles? If financing you could also save a decent amount on the interest rate on new v. used

It's definitely an SR5 based on the lack of Limited features. Can't speak to the price, but at 48k she's just getting broken in.

Well hold on, "taxation without representation" would imply we don't get to vote, and we do. I vote in all my local elections etc. We are the "live free or die" state so I hear ya. I guess I'd rather pay tax on the rig than income tax. But doesn't really hurt any less when you're writing the check.

For about 4k more you can get a brand new one.

I bought my 3 year old limited with 55k on it for $29k.

You can get a brand new SR5 premium for $36k with ZERO miles. This is not a deal IMO.
