How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Dam you guys have way better prices then in Southern California. I can’t even come close to those prices from my local dealers.

Autonation Toyota (Denver) Costco price for a 2017 3rd row Premium SR5 with a few options:
2017 Toyota 4Runner SR5 Premium
View vehicle Details
MSRP: $39,769
AutoNation Price: $34,849
Vin: JTEBU5JR0H5480638
Stock Number: H5480638
Exterior: Classic Silver Metallic
Interior: Black/Graphite
Mileage: 3

So, the local dealer has sent ...

2018 TRD ORP with Moonroof and KDSS
without many other options at all (no running boards or exhaust tip, etc.)
MSRP = $42,430

Subtotal: 39,418.00
Fees: 769.85
Taxes (6%): 2,365.08
---------------------------------
OTD = 42,552.93

Price isn't bad, but isn't great. I do have to take into consideration there are only three 2018 Offroad Premiums with KDSS within 400 miles. There are none in Kentucky. Dealer will ship this one in from Tennessee dealership for free. I definitely want ORP with KDSS.

Thoughts?

OTD price on my new 38650 but watchout for Bev Smith Fort Pierce FL

Can anyone tell me if this dealership is double charging on destination & delivery.
Here’s the sticker and a quote they sent me via email with discount.

So i ended up paying 38650 OTD for my 2018 SR5 Premium 4x4 with sunroof, but I did have to use dealership financing (what a freaken nightmare). $38,6 is a more than fair front-end price IMO. Picked up the vehicle Sunday after negotiating mostly via text, phone & email for a week or so. I originally visited the dealership once for 5 minutes just to drive the vehicle. Then left in a hurry claiming i had to return to work. I refuse to sit there and negotiate like others do. its way more comfortable negotiating from home or the fire station at work. After all the numbers had been finalized I visited to sign the paperwork & pickup my new T4R. Ofcourse you cant leave the dealership without visiting the 'master' closer himself, the
F I N A N C E guy. After declining all his bull$*!! i was out the door.
Then came the nightmare the following day when they called to say the bank hadn't approved my rate and that i needed to return to sign at a new higher rate. Spot delivery scam is what this is referred to, aka yo-yo financing. BEWARE people this kinda stuff is rampant in the auto sales industry. Ive read now that it can happen anywhere from a day to even weeks after you leave with your new vehicle. Either get your own financing or MAKE 100% sure that you know what your credit score is (written proof to counter their possible scam) & that you negotiate with them during banking hours either via email/text or in person. I ended up keeping my original APR, but not until I had thrown everything including the kitchen sink at them & at a cost of 48rs of fighting and arguing. I did tell them to shove their free window tint & my uninstalled roof rack cross-bars (already paid for) where the sun dont shine, maybe a $300 loss but still way better than the alternative of setting foot back in their dealership.

Anyone in the Fort Pierce FL area BEWARE of Bev Smith Toyota. If they cant snake you on the front-end part of the deal, remember they'll probably be coming for you on the backside.

at the end of the day consumer education is key, I know it's cliché but knowledge really is power. Knowing what you want, what a fair price is, what your own trade is worth, knowing your credit score and also the going finance rates all BEFORE you set foot in the dealership is huge. Now with the amount of research you can do online the game has changed and some car dealerships are more with the time than others.

You can kind of tell, at least I think you can, when a sales person and dealership appreciate an informed buyer and when they want to try and walk all over them anyway. When I buy vehicles I walk in with a stock number for the sales guy, and a loan offer from my credit union in my back pocket for if it gets that far. I don't mind the back and forth, I sort of enjoy it, I have always been a strong negotiator and do it professionally so I suppose it gives me an advantage. Most people get anxious and you're up against a pretty strong disadvantage. think about it like an MMA fight, if one person trains everyday and the other does at best once a year, who has the upper hand? You as a consumer don't negotiate on a daily, unless for example you do at work, the car dealer does this all day. So the only way you can even the playing field is with data, the more you have the better you'll fair.

Hey guys - looking to pull the trigger on a White 2018 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium in the next week or two. I've currently got 3 dealers competing (lot's of stock here in Milwaukee for some reason).

Current lowest price is $36,642 (+taxes, registration, dealer fee)....I know this is a good deal on a new '18. Should I jump on it or hold out a few more days?

Thanks all!

EDIT: Non-KDSS model

That's a good price. See if you can get a little bit more off but if not I'd pull the trigger on it.

That is a great price. See if you can have them throw some accessories for free.

That's a smoking price. I'd make sure to go over those numbers with a fine toothed comb. Is there a trade involved and, if so, do they know it?

I was browsing another thread on TRD Pro's and decided out of curiosity to see how many of them there were in the DC/Baltimore area on cars.com. I literally had this listing open when I saw your post, haha....

That's a pretty good price. I was in the same ballpark for my 2018 TRD ORP with KDSS. I've seen commentary on boards here (right or wrong) that 9-10% below MSRP is considered a "good" deal. I got to 8% below and felt good about my purchase given the scarcity of the exact trim, color, and KDSS option I wanted.

No one wants to pay MSRP, but in the end it's all about the value you see in that exact vehicle.

Thanks for the replies guys!

I was debating see if they'd do a couple hundred more but don't want to push it too far. Was also debating asking for TRD wheels but I think that may be getting greedy :loco:

Very fine indeed. There is a trade involved, but I've negotiated these prices separate of the trade and have a ball park offer on the trade from two dealerships thus far. I am going to one on Saturday and the other Monday to have my trade evaluated and going from there. Low ball on the trade and I'll hold out to sell privately...or until they come around.

As of right now they've both agreed to match the Runner's price with one another, so the only negotiating piece for them to get me to choose one dealership over the other is who can do the best on the trade, since I'm doing outside financing.

Ok, good. Sounds like a solid plan to me. Next stop, 4Runnerville!! :guitar3:

ORP Seattle

Hi all. First of all, thanks to all those who have taken the time to post prices and given opinions.

I'm in the market for a TRD OR Premium with KDSS and moonroof. The dealer has offered 40,700 + tax, title and 150 doc fee. Add ons include roof rack and the all weather liners. This isn't as good as east coast dealers like Koons, but for this area I think it's decent. Thoughts?

I'm at 40,700 for a TRD ORP, KDSS, moon roof, roof rack/cross bars, liners/cargo,tray. Dealer fees are 150. 10% tax, 1% transportation tax for something being built in 2044, and title/license. OTD 45.8. I'd be happy with your deal.

Folks,

Curious if you don't mind posting up how much you paid for your new 2014 4runners out the door price and what TRIM and options you got.

I'm only interested in OUT THE DOOR price.

Just want to see what it would cost me to trade mine in for a '14

MSRP less 600 plus tax 51k / TRD Pro with PORT installed running boards, LED package, Front hood/nose clear bra, roof rack cross bars, sliding tray, mats, cable pack all of which I could care less about but the blue was hard to come by.

I'm not sure how to tag people, but wanted to follow up with you guys (@KP Texan, sn_85, jacksparrow).

Yesterday I made a deal on a Gray 2018 TRD ORP non-kdss, no add ons besides weather mats. $36,642 +tax, title and $219 dealer fee. The real negotiation came from my trade in and I was able to get $1200 OVER NADA average trade in....which was also about $1k over auction prices at similar mileage.

Extremely happy with the process (shout out to Wilde Toyota in Milwaukee) and can't wait to pick up the Runner on Monday!:trophy::trophy::bravo:

Congrats not only on the new 4Runner, but also on the deal you got!! I think you did right with the Gray too, haha.
