How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

2018 Trd Offroad Premium

New here, had almost convinced myself I would get a loaded JL Rubi but couldn't justify spending $14K more on a loaded one. Just pulled the trigger on a White 2018 TRD Offroad Premium with

- KDSS
- Rear Cargo Slide + Mat
- Moon Roof
- Running Boards
- All Weather Floor Liners
- Door Edge Guards
- Exhaust Tip
- TRD Performance Brake Pads

MSRP was nearly $43,400, got it for $40,500 (Tax + tags extra). There were none available in the North East so dealer is placing the order with Toyota to be built, will be here in 3 months. Can't wait to get it and start modding it for overlanding. This forum seems to have a wealth of immense knowledge.

EDIT: Some of you seem to have snagged immense deals on your's. I got just about $3K off sticker. Wonder if I should shop around some more lol.

When I looked in 2015 I got quoted for a Trail premium w/ KDSS for $37563 +fees.

If you are stuck on a TRD Pro and they are quoting you sticker, then you are unlikely to find a better deal, as few dealers are going below sticker on the Pro's.

Although the dealer on my Pro would not go below sticker, I got them to bring their trade-in offer on my FJ Cruiser up by $2,500 from their initial offer and that was good enough for me, as the trade, plus savings in sales tax added up.

Thank you for the insight. I see, I thought this was a fair deal as well, but not a GREAT deal. Maybe I can just ask them to throw in a few accessories and call it even. Any genuine toyota accessories you recommend?

There are also some hits from Milton Ruben Toyota in Augusta, GA when you google this VIN. Might want to check with them too.

You'd have been better off letting them lowball your trade by $2500 and dropping the sales price of the new vehicle by the same amount. To them it's all the same. To you, you'd have saved 8% (using CA sales tax rate) of the $2,500 plus probably saved a few bucks each year when registration comes due.

Not the best deal, but considering it had KDSS, was in a really hot market (Los Angeles), and had only 1 mile (so I could do an official break-in myself on the first new car I've ever owned at age 37) I took the deal.

TrueCar sucks.

Another forum member here sent me a screenshot of the price he got, and I got the dealer to basically get closer to his price.

That price was $1,000 less than what TrueCar was quoting for it.

You are fortunate. Most states are like CA in that they calculate sales tax and registration based upon the full cash price of the vehicle regardless of trade.

My auto hobby would be so much less expensive if I lived in a state like yours!

Shopping for a sr5 premium, best price so far is $35,799 (MSRP $39,804) includes freight and excludes Tax, Tag, and $75 processing fee.

So $4005.00 off msrp.

Are there better deals out there? Or should I jump on this one?

I hate reading this as I got mine with pretty much the same options + predator steps, exhaust tip, black roof rack corners for 41.6K+tax and fees. Pretty much 46k OTD. I guess thats the price for living in SoCal......
