Hello everyone.
I've been research and debating between an ORP or a TRDP for months. In the end, I chose what I perceived to be the best value. I just moved to Dallas and best offer I got on a TRDP was 1k off MSRP (I understand this may be an amazing deal to some of you.)
However, in the end I went with a ORP. I wanted a sunroof despite how everyone around here (just moved to Dallas) tells me it's too hot to use one. I guess we'll find out. The sunroof was the only factory installed option.
The distributor installed the following options:
Cargo Cover (169)
Cargo Net (49)
Glass Break Sensor (299)
Vehicle Protection Package (349)
Dealer installed:
Tint (299)
Door guards (129)
I did like some of the other ORP packages but refused to pay close to TRDP prices for those.
In the end I got a super white ORP for 5k off MSRP on 5/31. MSRP was 41,706 and I paid 36,706.
They also managed to get me a 3.14% rate for 72 months. Of course that was after I brought them pre approval for 3.24% from my credit union.
After speaking with several dealers I purchased from Toyota McKinney and would recommend them. I would NOT recommend Plano Toyota for those that may be in the area.
Exited to be part of this community. I haven't been bit by the mod bug since I sold my STI and had kids. Good news is, my wife said I could take the 5k I saved and I have some fun.

First post! I have acquired a MGM TRD OR with KDSS in Denver. I had two "must haves", the color and KDSS. Really don't like leather seats so the premium didn't make sense.
Thanks to this thread, I saw an earlier post where someone was able to acquire the exact same vehicle for $37,000 flat which was the lowest I saw. Came into every dealership with that price and stuck with it. I could've gotten a slightly better deal, however I spent quite a bit of time with one salesman - including wasting a good bit of a prime selling Saturday afternoon. He eventually offered the $37,000 and then another dealership offered to beat the price slightly (never saw paper but she had mentioned around $200-$300). Being in sales myself, I respected the time the first salesman spent with me and decided to move forward with him as the price is fair to me. Only other options (besides the KDSS) were All Weather Floor Liners/Cargo Tray and Roof Rack Cross Bars.
MSRP: $40,809
Negotiated Price: $37,000
Discount: $3,809 (9.37%)
Random tip: negotiating online/over the phone did not work effectively *until* I had one real offer in hand which I had to spend time at a dealership in person to get.
Now it's mod time!

Personally, I would suggest you shop around a little and maybe see if other dealers would beat this offer. If they gave this to you upfront with little to no haggling, there is likely some more room.
I've been buying Toyota's and Lexus' for the last 8+ years. In my experience, i've been able to get an average of 12% off MSRP (sometimes more, sometimes less).
Definitely worth getting more quotes so you don't ever wonder what if ...
And as the post above said it, if other dealers beat it by an insignificant margin ($100-$200), I do like to reward my business to the dealer that offered it first. I've gotten free accessories out of it when I mention it to them

Local dealer in Orlando area has decent price on 2018 4runner. Sr5 4x4 msrp $37125 discounted to $32377.
Limited 4x4 msrp$45080 now is $39977. They only have 1 trd trim. I didn't ask since I'm not interested in try model. They also gave me price on RWD model which is about $1000 less than the 4x4 respected models.

First post. Great site and a wealth of knowledge/experience. Just got my 4Runner yesterday, 6/9/18, in Chandler AZ.

My dealer told me we couldn't get a TRD ORPremium without a sunroof. ?? And I was under that impression even before he tried to get a Premium without sunroof.

It’s technically an option ($850) on the ORP, but this was the only one I’ve seen without it in a few weeks of looking. Seems most are coming with kdss too, which I did not want. I was fine with or without the sunroof.

Picked up a 2018 TRD in white today. Just has floormats, pretty basic.
Quoted price via email was $34,900 and that is what I ended up paying plus the title, tax, license, etc. In Portland, OR.
From a dealership chain that I can't stand but they took great care, made it easy, price was right, and while I had intended on selling my current rig outright they made a trade in offer while I was there that was great so I just took it. Salesman even helped move all my crap into the new rig.

got my 18 TRD Off-Road for 40,800 OTD at priority toyota of springfield
came with the running boards,door edge guards, all weather floor mats and cargo liner
idk how great my deal was but ive been pretty happy with the car so far, not so much with the damn finance dept there as i've had to stay on top of them to get my trade in paid almost a month later and still hasnt been done:redbrick:
