How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

My dealer told me we couldn't get a TRD ORPremium without a sunroof. ?? And I was under that impression even before he tried to get a Premium without sunroof.

I have a mgm trd orp with no kdss and no sunroof got mine for 37+ ttl you really just have to look luckily my dealer had one on the lot.

got my orp for 38k, feel like could be better but since i negotiated initially for the Tacoma. No options, no sunroof msrp 40k. Wanted for 36k, but messed up and lost the upper hand. Either good price with the Tacoma or get what i really wanted, the 4runner.

I think the minor upgrades to the '19s are worth the wait if not in a rush to buy new, particularly the JBL standard in the TRD Pro if one cares for such things. The LED fogs are a nice touch too, although easy upgrades to do on your own.

Hello everyone,

I'm seeing a lot of prices that are outside of California. Has anyone made a recent purchase in Northern California lately?

Hell no. I have yet to see a decent deal inside California. I knew that I wanted a used Trail premium, and everyone in a 400 mile radius wanted $40K+, same as new! I flew up to Portland from LA and bought a CPO for $36K, and it had brand new KO2's on it. The dealer (Ron Tonkin) knocked $200 bucks off to cover my flight, and I drove it home the next day. Worth the weekend to save almost $4K.

That's one hell of a deal. Now that you mentioned it, I just checked Beaverton Toyota and they have EXACTLY what I want which is a T4R OR in Super White. I believe there is no KDSS which is why the price may be lower... but for the CPO T4R you bought, was it 50-States emission?

Call up the dealer and ask them to check under the driver door for the KDSS manifold, some don't even know it's there haha. Make sure it's exactly the truck you want! I waited for weeks until this one showed up with the specs I wanted. KDSS, sunroof, and no cargo slider. The 275 KO2s on all 5 wheels were a bonus!

I believe all 4Runners sold in the States are 50 state emissions compliant. However, California will still make you smog anything you bring over a state line before you can register it. Stupid huh? Plus, don't think you're sneaking away without paying sales tax just because it's from Oregon... You have to pay registration taxes and fees for the county you register in. In my case, good ol' LA county added $5K to the cost of the truck before I was settled.

No. I'd stop responding to them if that's the best they'll do. I saw Off-Road Premiums in Texas at a significantly lower price point.

Was it a pain in the but as far as paying taxes and registering it in California?

There were a couple of snags.

Basically what they did was overestimate the county taxes and registration fees and included that in my financing (I had cash but they wouldn't accept checks or cashier's checks out of state). They gave me a temporary Oregon registration that was good for about a month while I got tags down here.

I had to go to the DMV twice, because I didn't know I needed a smog the first time.

And the TTL overestimation? It ended up being about $350. The DMV wouldn't give me the check directly, they sent it back to the dealer. The dealer sent it to Bank of America (the financier). Since I had paid the loan off immediately, BoA sent it back to the dealer. The dealer finally mailed it back down to me (whew!).

Kind of a pain in the butt, but worth saving the money. And the drive back home through Modoc and the Sierras was beautiful.

Check Carson City Toyota. I got a quote of $800 over invoice for ANY in stock 4runner.

FWIW you could check Freeman Toyota in Santa Rosa. They generally have lower prices than anyone in the north bay.

ORP in Nautical Blue w/KDSS & Moonroof
MSRP: $43,140
Discounted Price: $39,680 + TTL

I'm in love!!!

That's a whole lot of shenanigans to go through.

What was MSRP when new for you 2016?

When I was shopping last month for a used one with low miles, it was pretty close to MSRP and dealers were not willing to deal. I felt did not make sense to buy used one with low miles.

So I began looking at new ones. Most dealers gave $2000 to $2500 off MSRP and they felt like they were giving me some kind of super deal

I emailed Freeman Toyota and they have $4000 off MSRP right away. I used that offer to negotiate with local dealers again. Some local dealers thought I was making it up or told me they couldn't match their offer. Then two dealers changed their mind and began negotiating again.

One dealer matched $4000 off and couldn't do any better.

Another dealer gave me $4274 off so I went with them.

MSRP $41274
Selling price $37000 before TTL.

I still came in under MSRP with TTL.

I wanted to get $5000 to $6500 off MSRP like a lot of people in Florida but I don't think that is possible in California.
