Oh good... because I bought one about 10 days ago without either. (At least I worked a decent deal though)
That's with all incentives (the only one mentioned to me was $750). Yes, it's a 4WD.
Starting to wonder if i should scrap the New 4runner plan and just go for a used...

Assuming 4wd, that’s a pretty good price. I got my 17 SR5P, 4wd, 3rd row, sunroof, crossbars, tube steps, remote start, and all weather mats for $36,750 plus TTL. I’m in Oklahoma and searched hard to get that price.

I was planning to go used but they just hold their value so damn well it was only a few thousand more for a new one over a three-year-old one with 30-50K. Plus you get a full warranty and two years of maintenance.
You can find a deal used if you really try. I bought a 2015 SR5 4x4 with the third row, pristine condition, Toyota certified pre owned, $29k mileage for $27.5k. I just couldn’t justify spending 7-9k more for a brand new one that was virtually the exact same car. And since I saved some $$$, I’ve was able to put my own mods on it (Toyota heritage grill from TRD Pro, trd black rims, 275 bf Goodrich AT ko2 tires, n fab nerf bars, etc). It looks awesome. Just a thought.

Great deal! I have always purchased used vehicles for that exact reason. Used 4runners like that are unicorns, IME. When I was shopping last year I was looking at 2014-2016 models with 30k or less miles. Everything within a 500 mile radius was $33-$35k and didn’t seem nterested in negotiating.
So, in this instance, buying used for almost the same $$$ as new didn’t make sense to me.

I took Naylor99's advice in a previous post. Sent an email to 20 dealers within about an hour and a half drive from me, using basically the same template. Heard back from about 10, 4 were pretty competitive prices. Took the lowest and sent a second round to the dealers giving them the opportunity to beat the price.
Lowest price came from Freeman Toyota in Santa Rosa. They've been a pleasure to work with. Not sure this is legitimate, but had one dealer tell me that non-KDSS models are not being shipped to northern California.
Thanks for all the help, been lurking for 2 years reading about 4Runners and finally pulled the trigger. Should be getting mine this weekend!

Nope. Always wanted KDSS, but was told this when I asked if they had any non-KDSS models to test drive. As someone who isn’t too savvy with this sort of thing, wanted to see if I could feel any difference on my own.

Most of the time when dealers tell you stuff like this, it's because they want you to buy what they have on the lot.
I chalked it up to that, as well, but from my small sample size it does seem to play out that way around here.

Could not find the color, model with the options I wanted, so a local dealer found one in route from Japan heading to the Long Beach port.

In the market for a 2018 Blizzard/Black LE w/ 3rd Row for my wife. Stumbled on this thread and after talking with a few dealerships and I wasn't seeing any quotes under 45k.
Sent an email over to Freeman Toyota in Santa Rosa and they quoted me 43,200 MSRP down from 48,265 right off the bat.
Wondering if I should try and work them a little more, take it, or wait until Labor Day Weekend.

Freeman quoted me a pretty low price to begin with, but I received a lower quote from Stockton Toyota and eventually Hansel Toyota in Petaluma. I came back with the lower offer from Stockton Toyota and Freeman was quick to beat everyone else on price.
YMMV, of course, but that was my experience with a different model.

2018 Toyota TRD pro cavalry blue with sliding rear cargo, exhaust tip, roof racks, predator steps, protective coat 47k...I think 1k over msrp (but I think they inflated price with bs add on’s). I didnt have choice as this car was built for someone else. I just bought it last week and I love it.
