My local dealer offered $16K on my Tacoma as trade-in, and showed me an ORP at almost $43K. I laughed and found a private buyer for $24K on the Tacoma.

Two weeks later I flew up to Portland and drove home the exact 4Runner I wanted.

Frustrated. Spent 5 hours working dealers today. Had two dealers agree to 38.5 for a orp with kdss and moonroof (43.3 msrp). Both backed out at the last minute.

Others were getting this deal before the 1000 rebate. Wasted a lot of time today.

Expressway Toyota in Dorchester, MA. Their price on website is just under 32, but offered 31,109 when I emailed through cargurus last weekend. Boch Toyota in Norwood MA was also under 32 for most basic SR5 trims with 4x4. Some in New Hampshire were also competitive but the 31,109 was lowest I saw reaching out to a number of dealers.

I’d also check out Berlin City. They deliver cars on the east coast and have pretty incredible deals. They took close to 5k off my TRD OR premium last week with not much negotiating.

I purchased my 2018 4Runner TRD Off Road Premium with a MSRP of $44,800 for $39,800.

The suspension is surprising soft for an off road truck, especially when towing. I believe the springs are overpowering the shocks so I ordered a set of Bilstein 6112/5160 struts/shocks.

All trims except the TRD Pro have only increased by $100, so any differences from '18 to '19 will be minimal. If you can find what you want on a dealer's lot then an '18 will be a better deal because dealers want to clear them off the lots, and Toyota is also having a $1000 cash back offer on all '18 models for at least a few more weeks.
