Out the door on an SR5 premium for $35k... That seems a bit ambitious. A regular SR5 with a 3rd row maybe. Last month we paid $37,850 out door on our SR5 premium with (moon roof, 3rd row, crossbars, all weather mats) and we don't have sales tax in Oregon, just a .5% luxery tax. Not the deal of the century but I contacted every dealership within 100 miles and only one could match, but it was the wrong color. There are some Sr5 premiums without moon roofs which could bring down the cost some.

Nope - did NOT make the purchase. Too little on our trade-in, we walked out. If they would have given us a $1000 more for our trade, it would have been a done deal.

I found the best way to buy a car if you know what you want is to negotiate via email. They will try and not give you a price and beg you to come in, but don't fall for it. If they won't negotiate with you via email it will most likely be a dealership that won't give you a good deal. Going out of state is even an option. Last 2 vehicles I bought were out of state.
Waiting till later in the year will be a better time to buy or at least trying on the last day of any month. It will be interesting to see what dealerships will be taking on a 2019 if the 2020 4Runner is a re-design. Most vehicles the price would go way down, for the 4Runner I guess it all depends on what the new 6th Gen is going to be like. If it has the same 3.5 liter engine as the Taco then the 2019 price may stay the same or even go up. If you can wait until the end of the year, that is the best time to buy a vehicle.

I went to two dealerships before buying mine. The first time was to test drive the 4R before I had done any kind of work with the pricing. The second dealership I went to wasn't until weeks later when I was ready to buy and had done all of my dealing via email. It took all of one hour after I arrived to have the paperwork done, and I am confident I got a good deal. Good luck with your search.

Bought a 2019 SR5 Premium with TRD pro wheels, all weather mats all around and roof rails for $39k last week. I assume price depends on which area of the country you live in. Supply and demand.
I agree that email negotiations are worth the try. Bought my last one from an Oregon dealer via email and phone. Showed up and traded in the 3rd gen for the 4th. No fuss.
Also, I check every once in a while down south, and their deals are still better than up here. A '19 ORP in Blue, with Moonroof, no KDSS was $38.3k, and one with sliding cargo tray, (hard to find up here) was under $40k. Like before they offered me a simple trade in price, no hassles. I told them the truth and they had no issues with me just checking things out. Sometimes honesty works. Go figure.

Paid $36,300 for a White 2018 TRD ORP with sunroof, KDSS, and running boards. Thought that was a pretty good deal, the truck had 3100 miles on it at time of purchase. Best price I could find on a new 2019 with similar equipment was $41K.

Clean Carfax, 1 owner. Lady traded it in on RAV4. Bought an additional warranty on electronics... 10yr/100k. I’ve replaced a backup cam on my 2013 FJ and that wasn’t cheap. First car owned with Nav so it was worth the peace of mind.
It’s been a while since I had a tire as tame as the OE Dunlop’s on a Toyota. That being said, the ride and handling (esp highway), is way better than I ever expected.
Asking for opinions on pricing.
Been shopping around for a 2018/2019 4Runner ORP. Contacted several dealers across the midwest. 18's don't seem to be discounted - one dealer had 2x 18s that had hail damage during transport from factory to the dealer. Getting sold as used at the dealer. Damage was repaired, but won't show up on CarFax since it went back to factory for repair I believe.
For 2019 ORP +KDSS/moonroof/weather floormats - the lowest offer I got so far was 38k before TTL.
Thoughts?

That's a great deal. Just make sure that is really what it is. Sometimes they add fees and other things you don't want like pin striping, window tint, nitrogen in tires etc... I like my sliding rear cargo tray but at 38k that is a great deal without it. If it doesn't have running boards, that is a good thing. You can install sliders later yourself and are much better. If it does have running boards or steps that are welded where you can't take them off, have them remove them and deduct the cost.

If you look at the last post, you can get a TRD ORP with KDSS for 38k. 37,200 for an SR5 is too high, especially if it is not an SR5 Premium. Either way too much.

I can't get lower from any of CO toyota dealers
they just don't negotiate on T4R.
I seem to be getting better pricing in Chicagoland if you are interested in heading out that way.
